From 2011...
1) Rip more wax. I haven't opened a whole box in years, but I anticipate breaking a good amount of Topps Heritage. That will allow me to reach goal #2.
2) Get a Sandy Koufax Real One red auto from Topps Heritage. I'm hoping it's in my case.
3) I'd like to knock out some of the Sizemore cards I need from the '00s. Some are very tough, some I've only seen once or nonce, but they've got to be out there. 2004 Pristine Gold auto, 2008 Timelines auto, 2005(?) Donruss Team Heroes #/10, various 1/1s are at the top of the list.
4) Get the 1975 Topps PSA 8 card that's incorrectly listed as a mini changed to a regular so my registry set will go back up to 100% officially. I've only been putting that off for 3 years.
5) Depending on what they look like, go after the Topps Heritage Chrome Black Refractor set.
6) Finish some sets I've got hanging out forever: 1955 Bowman, 2005 Old Judge Golds #/20 Chris Burke, 2008 Timelines #/25. Get at least the Joe D or Ted Williams for my 1941 Play Ball.
7) Find a complete GU jersey of Sizemore.
8) Figure out what major PSA graded set I'm going to spend the rest of my life building, T-206, 1933 Goudey, or 1952 Topps. Right now I'm leaning to '33 in PSA 4-5.
9) Get a set of Mishra's Workshops (expensive nerdy MTG cards).
10) Sell a ton of stuff to pay for 1-9.
11) Finally build a website for my collections. I've been planning on using it as a tool for learning Ruby, but I'd like to just get it done already.

Haha, I was so naive back then. Ripped just a few packs of wax, couldn't commit to any boxes or cases. Found a 2008 Timelines Sizemore autograph, but I probably only found a few of his older rare cards. He's just not a popular sales item ATM. Only found a couple cards for the low-print-run sets I'm working on, but made good progress on 1955 Bowman. Started a website, but I build websites for a living so the last thing I want to do when I get home is spend more time building websites. I did start on a new project set that's almost done (Lineage mini jerseys) but the Mantle eludes me at a reasonable price.

For 2012, it's likely just Sizemore, Thomas, and completing sets that have been hanging around forever. I don't foresee ripping a ton of wax or any new project sets, but that probably means that I'll become a bigger ripper than Brentandbecca and get deeply involved in a half-dozen new rare sets. Still need to swap out my missing 1975 PSA 8, though. That's annoying.

koufax did not have a red auto in heritage, and neither did aaron. both were sp's, and blue ink only.

1. Get to 1500 Troy Glaus cards (I'm at 930 now). I have almost all his base cards, and a decent % of his low level inserts and parallels. Goal 1A would be to track down a reasonably priced copy of his Leaf R&S RC.
2. Get to 1200 Scott Rolen cards (At 850 right now).
3. Double my collections of some players I've been slightly ignoring: Ted Simmons (34 cards), Ron Santo (39), Bob Boone (46), Bruce Sutter (60), Chili Davis (89), Gabe Kapler (93), Alan Trammell (128)
4. Get GU cards of the following PC players who I don't have any GU yet: George Brett, Carl Crawford, Cole Hamels, Derek Lowe, Kevin Youkilis, Carl Yastrzemski, Adrian Gonzalez, Tim Wakefield, and Duke Snider.
5. Complete all the annoying low-end sets that I'm a few cards short of completing (2005-2011 Topps, 2006-2010 UD, 2009-2010 Heritage, etc.)
6. Acquire a true 1/1, not a plate or something from Topps M&M.
7. Complete my 2008 UD Heroes ultra-rainbow (all base and parallels for all my PC players in the set).
8. Find someone to give me something for my Mike Cameron collection.
9. Become the Dick Pole Supercollector.

2011 Goals

Make little piles out of big piles. I'm going to TRY and downsize a bit. I want to sell a bunch of small stuff and buy a Jackie Robinson autograph. - Did ok on this one

Also continue chipping away at my 2001, 2003, and 2004 Fabric of the game sets. - Did great on this one. Added about 100+ cards

Keep looking for the 2001 Upper Deck Hall of Famers Drysdale jersey card. - I looked but never got the card

Keep looking for the 2001 Fleer Greats of the Game autograph of Willie Mays. - l looked but never found it. I was able to find a redemption card for Sam Jethrow and a previoulsy unknown autographed MVP / ROY version of Richie Allen so I consider this goal achieved since I made progress on the set

Keep looking for the Mike Schmidt 2000 Fleer Greats of the Game autograph. - I bid on several and lost. I purchased a PSA TTM/IP version as a place holder

Also looking for an affordable 1998 Donruss Significant Signature autograph of Koufax with the Brooklyn hat. I have the LA version. - Goal Achieved

New or Continued Goals for 2012

Obtain autographed cards #1 and #5 for the 1993 Pinnacle Joe Dimaggio autographs

Obtain the 2001 Hall of Famers Drysdale Jersey card

Obtain the Upper Deck Portraits 8x10 Wright / Reyes dual autograph to complete this set.

Complete the 1998 Donruss Significant Signature autograph set

Obtain the 2001 Fleer Greats Willie Mays autograph and some of the redemption cards to complete this set.

Obtain the 2000 Fleer Greats of the Game autograph of Kirby Puckett

Obtain 50+ cards for my 2001, 2003, and 2004 Fabric of the game jersey card sets

Obtain at least two cards for my 2001 SP Legendary cuts jersey card set

And of course... downsize my collection

I don't think I posted last year, but one of my PC goals for 2011 was to pass 50% of John Olerud cards, which I did. I now have 1093 of 1949 known baseball cards (56.1%).

For 2012, I'm keeping my goal pretty modest. I'd like to pass 50% for each year of his career. Some of the early years I have 100% of the cards from, but the years that are lagging (with the percentage of cards owned) are: 1998 (38.9% thanks to Topps Tek!), 2003 (47.3%), 2004 (35.9%), 2005 (26.4%), 2009 (have neither of the 2 cards), and 2011 (I only have 1 of the OBAK's in-hand, with a couple more sitting in my COMC account).

I looked at your web site and I'm not seeing the check marks for the cards that you already have. Maybe my web browser is acting up? Let me know if you need the 1998 Pinnacle Museum Collection PP35. I have one but it's got a small ding on one of the corners. PM your address if you need it.

I think I reached my 2011 goal of buying less wax (ended up with only 4-5 blasters and < 10 packs thus far on the year, so not bad) and streamlining my collection, which I'm slowly doing. For 2012, I'd like to add more graded vintage, specifically a 1962 Topps #1 Roger Maris. It's my dream card. I'm also a bit of a Star Trek geek & this card was in one episode of TNG. I've wanted one ever since. I only want it in a PSA holder and with a minimum grade of 6. I'll sell half of my collection to get that one, so I have confidence that I'll reach my 2012 goal.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have the same issue with my laptop, but my site views fine on my desktop so I thought it was something with my laptop browser (IE9). I'll have to figure out what's going on...

I didn't do any 2011 goals but I have a few that I would like to do for next year.

1. Get 65 cards off of my Kirby Puckett want list. It is at 504 right now and most of what is left are tough to find or expensive.
2. Get to 70 Kirby Puckett auto's. I have 47 right now.
3. Complete at least one Justin Morneau rainbow. I have several in process most just need the Super.
4. Start selling stuff I don't want.

This year: "meet" other Bagwell collectors with hopes of finding possible traders.

I kind of met that goal. Ran across a few Bagwell collectors, but havent benefited much in the way of trading Bagwells for Bagwells.

Goals for 2012:
1. Find Collectors of Biggio, Berkman, Oswalt, and other former Astros to trade/sell for more Bagwell cards to add to my PC.

2. Redo my website by actually using the official Beckett list and rename/reorganize all my cards accordingly.

3. Try to get at least one card a week to add to my PC. Doesnt have to be rare or expesnive, just a card I dont have yet. Need to accomplish goal number 1 to really make this happen though...

Well, things change. No more pursuit of the Monster. I did acquire the Mathewson and more SL'ers, however.

2. Increase focus on HR and career milestones ticket stubs
3. Start piecing together Burks' 1998 Topps Tek set.

Wildfire Schulte

1. M101-5 or -4
2. E90-3
3. T207

Shawn Thornton

I think my goals for 2012 will be the following:
1. Finish up a decent amount of the sets I am working on.
2. Get to 3,250 different Bagwells(I am currently sitting at a little over 3100 with a few that I haven't added to the list.)
3. Get a Hank Aaaron auto
4. Get a few other various autos I'd like to add to my collection(nobody in mind as of right now).

1. Get to 942/1256 (75%) for my Reggie Sanders collection. Currently around 550/1256.
2. Get to 300 unique Gabe Kapler cards (have around 150).
