With college baseball season right around the corner, i figured there are few around here who would like to discuss their teams, preseason rankings, etc.

Essentially it's an open thread... tell us who you think will go to the CWS, players to look out for, etc.

I'll lead off...

I am really excited for this year of Texas A&M baseball for obvious reasons (preseason #1). I think this is the first year under a&m's new coach (Childress), that all the pieces are in place. Pitching is so deep its not even funny, with almost no arms lost to the draft.

Now, i will be the first to tell you that preseason #1 in college baseball means very little right now. It is always nice to see your team at the top!

One more thing i've noticed as i glanced through the BA top 25 is that 5 of the top 16 are from the big 12. I would have to put the big 12 as one of if not the top conferences this year (and yes, i may be a little biased). Also looks to be some of the usual players in the top 25 as well, LSU, NC, Texas, and Rice.

Should be a great season, and i am interested to see what FCB thinks...

Miami is gonna surprise a lot. They are a very young and inexperienced team losing 7 guys to the draft but they have one of the best pitchers in all of college baseball in Hernandez and a stacked incoming freshman class

I'm freakin' excited for the start of the season. I'm going through serious baseball withdrawals and I don't know if I can make it to next Friday. I just got my credentials confirmed for all four Stanford games next weekend (against Vandy & UCR).

i'm about to pee my pants as well...

I am fairly confident the first weekend series will be about 40 degrees, rainy, and 40-50 mph wind gusts... that always seems to be the way it starts :)

Enjoy your series, should be tons of fun!

I swear the Bulldogs were ranked, oh well another Under'Dogs to Wonder'Dogs year, or at least win the WAC for the 4th season in a row.

they may be in some other polls...

Baseball polls are the most sporadic polls out of any sport. BA just seems to be the most trusted.

The Bulldogs are putting me in a tough spot. They come to the Bay Area the same weekend both Arizona teams are in town.

Go Tigers!

Missouri is a very interesting team imo... Out of all the teams i saw on the top 25 they seem to be the hardest to predict.

The big 12 north is the weaker half, so missouri is the strongest north team in the big 12, but may only be 4th or 5th best in the conference. I am really not sure if Missouri should be as high up as they are right now, or if it is warranted that they be where they are...

Not meaning to say they aren't a good team by any means, just always an interesting team.

I'll be at Olsen field for opening weekend like I am every year. #1 to start the year. Whoop! And its the 20th anniversary of the 1989 team that was #1 the entire year, starting 40-1, and losing out to Ben McDonald and lsu in the super regionals. That was my freshman year at ATM.
