A few long days, but time to post again! 2005 Ultimate Collection.....which is VERY full of game used and autographs. I have a bunch, but am also missing a bunch, because each card's print run is pretty dang low. Anyhow....

Their game used cards, at least the ones Wright is a part of, are all under the label of Ultimate Materials. There are a few single jerseys and/or patches, a few duals, triples and one quad.

First up is the Materials with single swatches. Wright is part of the Materials, Materials Young Stars, and Materials Sluggers. The Materials cards came in a Jersey /25 and a Patch /10. I have the patch pictured below. I also have the jersey, but sadly it is damaged. When I bought it off eBay, the fool who sold it just placed it in a PWE with no protection at all. Naturally, it arrived bent up. I was so disappointed! Who sends such a rare card in the mail like that!?! I got my money back, but I would much rather have a nice card. So I still have the bent card just sitting around. Not sure what to do with it. Second photo is of the Materials Young Stars, both Jersey /20 and Patch /30. Final photo is the Materials Sluggers Jersey /20. There is no Sluggers patch.

Resized_20210810_220449.jpeg

On to the Dual Materials cards. I only have the Dual Materials Jersey with Eric Chavez /15. There are Dual Jerseys of Wright and; Eric Chavez, Jose Reyes, Arimis Ramirez, and Scott Rolen, all numbered /15. There are also Dual Patches of the same guys also all numbered /15. Got a ways to go here!
Resized_20210810_220517.jpeg

Triple Materials cards. There are three. A Triple Jersey of Wright with Jose Reyes and Kaz Matsui /15, a Triple Jersey of Wright with Mike Schmidt and Wade Boggs /15, and this Triple Patch of Wright with Reyes and Matsui /10. One down, two to go.
Resized_20210810_220534.jpeg

Lastly, there is one Quad Materials card. Wright with a few bums that never really panned out in the majors. Guys you never heard of, like Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, and Mark Teixeira. The card is serial numbered /10.

2005 Upper Deck Trilogy. Wright was part of the Generations Present, both Lumber and Materials. He was also part of the Generations of Lumber/Materials, which I will get to in a bit.

First the Generations Present cards. Only one I have in hand is the Generations Present Lumber Gold /75. There is also a Generations Present Lumber Silver /115 I just haven't bothered to get quite yet. I have the Generations Present Materials (jersey) Silver at COMC, which is /99. Missing the Materials Gold /25.
Resized_20210813_164151.jpeg

Luckily, I was able to obtain all of the "Generations of" cards. There are four. Two Generations of Lumber Triple cards, both /85. They feature Wright with Craig Nettles and Adrian Beltre and another with Mike Schmidt and Adrian Beltre. The two Generations of Materials Triple cards are both numbered /50 and feature the same players.

I was thinking, although not as impressive, I may as well dump "the rest" of the game used cards into one post. Most of these standalones or smaller sets within their releases.

2005 Donruss Champions has just this one, Impressions Materials, non-numbered.
Resized_20210815_003110.jpeg

A couple of cards from the Upper Deck's SP brands. 2005 SP Authentic had Jerseys /199 and Jerseys Gold /99 along with another subset Honors Jerseys /130. 2005 SP Collection had a subset Collection of Stars Jerseys /130. 2005 SPx had an SPxtreme Stats Jersey /130, which I have at COMC, as well as three Winning Materials Dual Jerseys, all numbered /20. One with Dallas McPherson, which I have. The other two I am missing are with Mark Teahen and another with Jose Reyes.

2005 Throwback Threads just has the one Jersey numbered /250.
Resized_20210815_003415.jpeg

2005 UD Portraits has a few. The first three are technically parallels of the base set; an Emerald Memorabilia (jersey) /99, a Blue Memorabilia (also jersey) /25, and a Gold Memorabilia (jersey) /15, which I am missing. There is also a Scrapbook Materials jersey card, which I am missing....just been to lazy/cheap to buy one. There's one for sale now on eBay that's $9.50 shipped, not including tax....I should probably just go grab it.
Resized_20210815_003429.jpeg

2005 Upper Deck has a UD Game Jersey, which I have on COMC and a UD Game Jersey Patch, not numbered, but with a print run to /45. I have not grabbed a copy quite yet. Sorry no photos.

2005 Upper Deck ESPN has one; a Sports Center Swatch jersey unnumbered.
Resized_20210815_003459.jpeg

2005 Zenith wraps up 2005s game used cards. There are two non numbered cards. A Z-Jerseys card and a Z-Bats card.

Will be on to 2005 autographs next!

I couldn't believe it when I found out that Edgar was the same guy that played Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket!

Yeah, Edgar seems to be everywhere. My theory is Pujols can only play 1B, so the times back in the day where he played 3B or LF was probably just Edgar in disguise. .... but this also is based on my theory that MIB is secretly a documentary and that parasites crawl into big boys and run around. I'll admit my proof is anecdotal at best, but the increase in uglies around here is making me build a bomb shelter.

You might be on to something there...

on that particular card, they kinda do resemble each other.

Startin 2005 autos.....this should be fun!

2005 Artifacts. There are a few autos here. I'm embarrassed to admit, I just realized I am missing the most basic and widely available one in the set. It's called Autofacts and is numbered /599. I know I did have this card at some point, but I think I sold it a while back, thinking it was a copy of the 2006 version I already had. Oops! Shouldn't be too difficult to track down again at a reasonable price. There is also a Rainbow 1/1 parallel, which I obviously don't have on my checklist.....as with all 1/1's, just a fun addition if I can ever find it.

Besides the common one I am missing (and it's 1/1 parallel), there are another eight of them, including another two 1/1's. In order below.....

Signature Patches /10, with no 1/1 parallel.
Resized_20210819_181942.jpeg
Dual Artifacts Signatures, and there are three, all numbered /10. One featuring Wright with Mike Lowell, which I have below, another with Wright and Scott Rolen and another with Wright and Jose Reyes. Missing those last two.
Resized_20210819_182017.jpeg
MLB Apparel Autographs numbered /30. There is a MLB Apparel Autographs Rare 1/1 as well, which would have two swatches of fancy stuff like buttons, laundry tags, or similar.
Resized_20210819_182041.jpeg
Last there is an AL/NL Artifacts Signatures card numbered /30. Like the above, it has a "Rare" 1/1 parallel with two fancy swatches.

Always loved 2005 Artifacts. I felt like 2005 was the peak year of Upper Deck for me, I really liked Artifacts, Reflections, and Ultimate Signature. Although I didn't really like the 2005 UD base set, I much preferred 2006.

Right, I think I mentioned somewhere that I do miss the other non Topps brands....and UD sets were particularly nice in 2005. I do agree with you too, the 2006 UD base set is nicer than the 2005. I generally didn't like the base sets any year really, but I kinda dig 2006. As far as what was a personal peak year, 2005 would be for me, but then again, I am very biased because of my Wright collection. I'm not to familiar with the earlier offerings, except for the very early 2000's and 90's when McGwire was in many of the releases, but there weren't nearly as many products then either.

Just a few today, before next time's Diamond Kings set, which is a doozey....kinda like the base cards.

2005 Bowman. This is the only auto from them, Signs of the Future, non numbered. I rather like my off-center sticker. I've had many other opportunities to "upgrade", but I'm sticking with it. It's unusual, like me :)
Resized_20210819_182116.jpeg

2005 Classic Clippings. There are three each of Diamond Signings Single and Diamond Signings Dual. Starting with the Single, I have the base or Blue version, non numbered. The Silver /25 is out there, but I don't like the current asking prices on eBay. The Masterpiece (purple foil) is the 1/1. As for the Duals (featuring Wright and Miguel Cabrera), I have the reverse. I am missing the Blue /49. I have the Silver /22 and the Masterpiece (purple) 1/1. Silly that the only thing that differentiates one version from the other is just the color of the foil, which is not strongly featured.

Been busy recently. I am actually trying to possibly part with my McGwire collection, which is certainly taking up time and energy! But back to it....

2005 Diamond Kings. Although there are a pretty good number of autographs, the layout is pretty simple. First the basics; Bronze /10, Silver /5, Gold /5, and Platinum /1, which I was luckily able to find.

Resized_20210821_152835.jpeg

Then there are the framed autos. They follow a pretty simple layout; a colored border and it's related colored border Platinum 1/1 parallel. I actually thought I might have an outside shot at completing the entire checklist, including the 1/1's.....at least I could give it a try, since I had a few already. I was humming along picking up these whenever they were listed, which was rarely. But I was winning them consistently at roughly the same prices. Then one day, one of the 1/1's shows up, and I get into some bidding war over it, which I thought was peculiar. Whoever won it spent a HUGE amount (and I have no idea why....it was x4 what they were usually selling for), so that's a bummer for me, I'll likely never see that card. Anyways; Framed Red /10, Framed Blue /5, Framed Green /5, Framed Green Platinum /1, and Framed Black /1.

2005 Donruss Champions. Only has the one autograph. Impressions Autograph, non numbered, but a stated print run /16 according to TradingCardDatabase.
20210825_160821.jpg

2005 Donruss Classics. There are just the Significant Signatures cards. I have the Silver /25 and the Gold /10. There is also a Platinum 1/1.
20210825_160835.jpg

2005 Flair. Just has these two. Significant Signings Blue /250 and Significant Signings Die Cut Silver /50.

It's been a little bit....

2005 Fleer Authentix. A pretty fun set playing off of ticket looking items. Wright is in the Ticket to the Majors subset. There is the; base /250, General Admission (Red) /100, Mezzanine (Yellow) /75, Club Box (Green) /50. There is also a Standing Room Only /10 that I am missing for now.
20210825_160916.jpg

2005 Fleer Patchworks. Much luckier here with the autographs than I was with the game used cards. Wright appears in the Autoworks subset. There is the; Copper /250, Silver /99, Gold /49 and Masterpiece (Purple) /1. That last one was a fun find!

Howdy folks!

2005 Fleer Platinum. This fellow is the only auto in the set, the Autograph Die Cuts subset. Nonnumbered print run is /50.
Resized_20210828_191942.jpeg

2005 Fleer Showcase. One of two autographs, this one is from the Autographed Legacy subset, and is numbered /298. The only other autograph from this set is a Masterpiece Showpiece Autograph Patch 1/1.
Resized_20210828_191959.jpeg

2005 Fleer something? I honestly have no clue where these come from. They have the Fleer logo on them, but I cannot find out exactly what set these are from. If anyone knows, please pass along the information. Also have NO idea how many parallels exist either. Whatever this is, I have three plain autographs, one numbered /300, another /150, and another /50. I have two autographs with jersey swatches, one numbered /100, the other /25. Each one looks EXACTLY the same, no coloring difference or anything else to indicate why the serial numbering is what it is. Anyways, the autographs are legit.....likely the whole card is legit, I just have no idea from where.
Resized_20210828_192117.jpeg
Resized_20210828_192209.jpeg

And lastly, 2005 Leaf Century. I only have the Signature Post Marks Silver /25. Missing the Gold /10, and I guess the Platinum /1.

The "2005 Fleer Something?" cards are listed by Beckett as "2005 Fleer Authentic Player Autographs." Kurt Suzuki is in the set so I recognized the design. Absolutely no idea what packs they were inserted in, I can't seem to find a match on baseballcardpedia. It's always been kind of mysterious for me since Fleer shouldn't have been able to produce a 2005 Kurt Suzuki card - he hadn't yet debuted in the majors and the one year where Donruss/Fleer/UD had the exemption to include minor leaguers in one set was 2004.

Oh and Beckett only lists a /300 auto version and /100 auto/GU version for Wright so even more mystery. There's only a /300 version listed for Suzuki and I believe that's what I have, don't know if they made a wide variety like with your Wrights.

That certainly is a lot of fishy things going on there. Kurt Suzuki in a set he shouldn't have been in. Only having a /300 and /100 g/u version for Wright, despite what I have here. Weird!! I have no idea, but thanks for the little bit of additional info! Maybe I can start a thread about these specifically and see if anyone knows who might not check my postings here.
