I've noticed a lot of sellers recently list BGS 9 10 AUs as only BGS 10. Often, these get significantly more $ (not sure why- buyers think they're getting a BGS 10?). Do you think it's misleading to list it as BGS 10 if it's really a BGS 9 10 AU? Do you care as a buyer?

Buyers fault for not reading description. Misleading? Maybe a little. Wrong? No. The autograph was graded a "10" by BGS. Don't get me started on autograph grading because it's stupid, but it is what it is.

not as much as when they freaking put "1/1" on...

jersey number
1/10000 = ebay 1/1
10000/100000 = ebay 1/1
24/500 = 1/1 because it's his bdate

oh, one of my favorites was on michael jordan #ed card...

32/250 = 1/1 because the number's reversed from his jersey #23 :benson: holy cow...

Lol, I hate the ‘1/1s.’ some of my fav ‘1/1’ listings-

1/1 b/c it’s the only 1 I have

1/1 b/c it’s the only 1 on ebay

1/1 b/c it's a sick patch

1/1 b/c 1 (1 card I’m selling)+ 5 (card # in set)= 6= his jersey #= 1/1

Yup ::facepalm:: Who would have thought our 'simple' hobby would run amok like this? Without even reasonable transparency or defintion this is what happens.

Everything about a card should be obvious...and factually correct... in order to grow the hobby and help protect it from greedy or desperate people...

I hate it when for fun I type BGS 10 in the search bar and the first hundred listings are BCCG 10
you can exclude most of that if you go to 'advanced' + put bccg in 'exclude words from search'. it doesn't get rid of the guys who put bccg bgs 10 though, but it does cut down the # of bccg hits quite a bit

heck, its easier to put this in your search

"BGS 10 -bccg"

yes, i believe in good karma/doing the right thing, etc., but it does kind of suck to see 'man, i could've gotten $50 more if i'd just put bgs 10' lol it's ok, good guys (+ chicks) win in the end :)

Um... All that came to mind when I read the op was cardboardbeautys.
usually, he puts bgs 10 on cards that are @ least a 9.5/10 au, but he does do 'bgs 10' even if it's just a bgs 9.before, it didn't seem like it helped- ex., my bgs 9/10 au would get the same/a little more as the 'bgs 10' lister. recently though, i saw a seller list a 'bgs 10' (bgs 9/10 au) + he got 1.5x more (give or take) what i did for the SAME card, so i was a little frustrated.

Cardboardbeautys = the biggest tool on ebay.

And every now and then, he sells card WAY WAY over market, so sadly enough, I think it might work as well.

Report Item!!! Any 1/1 in a title that is not a serial numbered 1/1 will get taken down.

I have no problem with BGS 10 in titles, it's not lying and they are not tricking anyone. Anyone who knows enough about cards to search bgs 10 knows the difference between a bgs 10 and a bgs 9/10 auto.

A simple -bccg in your search eliminates the majority of the non-bgs 10's.
