This is a "What would you do?" post.

I sold a card on Thursday at 8am and my listing states payment needs to be made within 48 hours. It is now 4 days later and I haven't heard anything from the buyer. He has great feedback, so I don't really get it. I've sent two invoices and I'm about to send a third letting him know that if I don't hear from him/receive payment by Monday at 8am I will be filing a non-paying bidder claim and re-listing the card.

I'm rather annoyed since I haven't heard anything whatsoever and I had other offers on the cards. So what would you do?

For me, it depends on the final selling price. If it is high, I would relist it. If it is low, then I would wait for the buyer to respond.

It's a $100 card, which is why I'm annoyed about it, plus I can probably get more. Screw it, it's getting re-listed.

Re-listing it after only 4 days is just asking for trouble. You really shouldn't re-list it until you file the NPB and it gets cleared. I've had people take more than 4 days to pay, and on a rare occasion, I've done the same due to other circumstances out of my control. You don't want to have two buyers who won the item, then ur sure to get a negative

Ok ok, that is true, but it was a counter-offer he accepted, not an auction. I'll just try to forget about it for a few days lol.

Well feedback really doesn't mean anything for buyers. I mean all you can give them is positives.

I agree with the others - no way I'd just re-list without going through the NPB process.
Personally after 4 games I'd send a reminder and see what happens at that point, if I didn't hear anything or I didn't think I was going to get paid I'd pen up the NPB after a week.
It seems you don't want to wait that long....so if it's an issue to you, it;s your right to open it sooner than that, but as I said I'd certainly go that route and not just go re-listing it before than.

eBay already sends a reminder after a few days.... he has sent 2 invoices and is about to send a 3rd.

If this was a buy in now you should have had it be immediate payment through paypal once the auction is done. If $100 means that much to you.... maybe you shouldn't be selling on eBay to begin with. For most people eBay isnt that big a deal.... sometimes real life happens and an eBay auction gets lost... constant invoices arnt going to help the buyer pay quicker.

One thing you have to remember... he can give you a negative.... you cant give him one. So he might be stalling just because you are sending an invoice each day.

I understand that eBay isn't the number one priority, but I find it rather odd that you'd accept a counter-offer on an item and not pay immediately, personally.

It isn't that big a deal, this was a question.

Sorry, I had a bad week.

You can ask for payment as much as you want but the buyer has a week+ to pay no matter what you say.

You can't put payment clauses that go against eBay regulations. Well, I guess you can but they will not enforce it. 4 days is a bit soon to be getting worked up.

About an hour after I posted this the guy paid.

I guess I was getting worried because I'm used to receiving payment almost immediately.

:oops: ::facepalm::

yeah it's hit or miss. the more you sell the more you have to worry. usually i just politely ask the person to pay asap on items that are over $50.

generally people eventually pay. i file cases or ask folks to cancel transaction always before re-listing. can only create problems if you relist before you do that.
