How much do you think that guy's collection is really worth? I think Mr.Mint only offered him what, 10-15k from what I heard, including the jersey; but I really wasn't keeping count.

That guy's got one hell of a collection though..at the very least, I hope he enjoys the money he gets from the sale.

There are actually 5 videos. In the last video he counts the guy out 80K in cash. I'll assume it's worth a lot more then that.

I'll never understand people. If you know enough to find Mr. Mint, you should damn sure know enough about finding PSA/BGS and ebay. I'm sure he would have brought more than 3-4x (probably quite a bit more, who knows) what he got if he went through grading and a real auction house/ebay.

That right there was a sad day for collecting. You know for sure those sets are going to be broken up and you can tell that from the way he asked about all the important cards from each set. Not only was he unprofessional he also handled the cards horribly. The worst part of the video was when the old man was like "make sure you check out the Williams" and the dbag replied "I don't need to check it out I already know." At that point I would've kicked him out of my house. Sad, sad day.

Mr. Mint is retiring, actually. I was told by a card show organizer who has dealt with him that he's broke.

If he handled my cards like that, threw my memorabilia around, and finally lowballed me, I'd kick the shat out of him and throw him out of my house.

This most certainly must have happened in the past we will just never know about it.

Wow, just watched some of the video without the sound on because I figured I would've wanted to punch him in the face and I was right. Especially with the 2 losers taking "notes".

just sad that someone who supposedly knows something about vintage and is throwing things around is despicable in my opinion

There is a special place in Hell for that shitbag. I can't believe what he did to that Jersey. Offering 2 grand for a set of 54 topps. I am seriously going to vomit.

1. This vid has been around for months now.
2. There are still 1,000,000's of people, be they old, uneducated, ignorant, stubborn, or any combination thereof who not only don't know what eBay is, they've never used a computer before.
3. As much as we'd all like to hope it would go away, plenty of the above people still read Beckett, and take it as gospel. Beckett advertises Mr. Mint. I doubt they advertise eBay nearly as much.
4. I do feel somewhat bad for the complete rube in this vid. However, watch all the videos. He walks around the whole time lowballing himself. "Oh, I know that one's in bad shape". He allows this ****** to be and stay in his house, even after all his BS. He takes the offer at the end.
5. Mr Mint may be a ******, but he didn't seek this guy out. This guy called him.

And ya gotta imagine in this economy and time frame in history, the cost of living being a retiree on a fixed income is probably pretty hard with gas prices and food prices constantly rising. Having thousands of baseball cards in a basement or 80K (or however much he sold it for) in your pocket... pretty easy decision.

It a sad video to watch. What an arrogant ***** throwing someone else's stuff around like that.

Watching the video about '52 Topps.

"There were 72 Mantles. I only paid him 10%. I promised him 20, but there were just too many for that."

Sums this guy up, period.

(A) 10% Value is WAY too low for items in a good quality seeing how, in graded form, they could be worth over 100% any given value.
(B) If you can't afford what you PROMISED the guy -- why not just buy a portion and return for the rest?

Preying on the ignorant cannot be validated.
Hitting a too low BIN? They are happy with their price. They put it there.
Selling a prospect on a hot streak? They are paying a price they are happy paying.
Taking people who have NO CONCEPT of sport collectibles value and throwing them lowball offers, because you know they are going to hear a number and be happy... even at 10% real value? Wrong. But that's just MY OPINION.
