The moral of the story: Don't file a report on the local PO if you plan on having anything significant purchased int eh next few weeks. Noon came and went, mail carrier came and went, package at the local PO waiting for someone to deliver it like they are supposed to.

I swear the post office is a **** up to move up place. But, it is like a restaurant where you cannot say much because if you do they can **** with you.

I swear the post office is a frack up to move up place. But, it is like a restaurant where you cannot say much because if you do they can frack with you.

Yeah this is frustrating. I called the national number and was told there is no excuse for it to not be in my hands by now given the service purchased by the sender.

What makes this ridiculous is that it is express mail with a guaranteed delivery time. Our local mail has gone in the pot since the previous Postmaster retired. Where I work our mail isn't being picked up until after the deadline for mail to even go out that day. I don't think it's a big request considering the fact that someone paid them for a service they guaranteed.

So much for my card arriving today. Was told they will get it to me around 3:00 p.m. tomorrow. $30 for shipping that takes 48 hours. Dude could've sent Priority and had it here in the same amount of time.

Agreed. FWIW the national office says they are not pleased with it not getting here. Granted it was not processed until after 4:00 p.m. but it was still sold as next day delivery. If there was no way to get it here "next day" they shouldn't have accepted so much cash. It was processed an hour from here at 6:00 a.m. and is still sitting there. Add the fact that it was not insured for the full auction price and I'm a bit frustrated with having to wait another day.

It's cool and you guys can call me Chris. The frustration is really based on a sequence of bad experiences with the USPS. Two of my last 4 packages were screwed up and my kid gets upset when the book club books are torn up being stuffed in the mailbox. There's all kinds of talk about downsizing with the USPS. If downsizing means efficiency then I'm all for downsizing.
