and we lead Major League Baseball in both revenue and titles, with 26 World Series championships and 39 American League Pennants.

...we remind Card Magnet of a young kid playing a MLB video game, in that we spend a crapload of money for big names. Except it doesn't really work out as well as it would on the PS3.

This one's gonna hurt boomo, but it's not (too) personal...

Hi, we're the Yankees and we still have Sergio Mitre and Phil Coke "pitching" about every other nite.

Hi, we're the Yankees...who the hell are you?

By the way, this SHOULD be the response. But it seems to me that many, (not all, but many) Yankee fans have become overly sensitive, have somehow lost their sense of humor, and rely on past history (that almost none of them were alive to see).

What's wrong with history? It should be remembered and honored. It's history that has made the Yankees the greatest franchise in sports history.

Hi, we're the Yankees and everyone "loves to collect our top prospects because yes, we can buy talent BUT we do know AND produce talent better than anyone".......

The issue is that the Yankees fans used to be able to dismiss all the haters and jealous fans. All the sudden they don't win the world series in a while, while their rival wins 2. Now the yankees fans play the "poor us" or "look what my team did while my great grandfather was a kid" card. It's sad really, I feel bad for them. They've lost their identity as a fan base.

Hi, we're the Yankees and we are in first place and will stay that way...on our way to number 27. This will also be our 40th World Series.
We swept the Redsux this past weekend too. We also have the most championships of any professional team sport in the WORLD. :)
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You're absolutely right. But what your favorite team did in the 50s and what my favorite team did in the 50s should have no bearing on how we root for the teams in the here and now.

History should be remembered and cherished. But really, in the world of sports especially, we live in a world of "What have you done for me lately?"

Forgot one...

...and after sweeping our rival, we have still only won half as many games as we've lost to them this season. ;)

Well they're not my favorite team. Mattingly was my favorite player frowing up so I became a Yankees fan. The Giants are my favorite team but I disagree with you. Imagine you have a grandfather or father that told you stories about their favorite team groing up. What if your best memories of you grandfather is him telling you stories about watching Ruth and Gherig play and how great they were. What's wrong with then rooting for the Yankees after hearing stories like that? This could be said about any team not just the Yankees.

Yeah, but the Yankees still have around 200 more wins vs. Boston all time. Talk to me when they close that gap. :)

Yet the Red Sox still manage to be 6 games back. (The Sox game isn't over yet)

I'm better than everyone else because I'm a globetrotters fan!
