Now the yankees fans play the "poor us" or "look what my team did while my great grandfather was a kid" card. It's sad really, I feel bad for them. They've lost their identity as a fan base.

Hi, we're the Yankees and we are in first place and will stay that way...on our way to number 27. This will also be our 40th World Series.
We swept the Redsux this past weekend too. We also have the most championships of any professional team sport in the WORLD.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Imagine you have a grandfather or father that told you stories about their favorite team groing up. What if your best memories of you grandfather is him telling you stories about watching Ruth and Gherig play and how great they were. What's wrong with then rooting for the Yankees after hearing stories like that? This could be said about any team not just the Yankees.
