Is this for real or did I miss the sarcasm?

He does in fact work for Leaf. The other part of that was pure speculation/conspiracy.

I can see how it doesn't look good, but like Phil said, he hit Supers, but he didn't hit but one redemption in 20 cases. I busted one case, hit nothing better than a Green /10 parallel, but I did get a redemption.

And he may have purchased 16 cases who knows, but it is all about perception. Just like the boomo deal

Here's my opinion on this. I've heard the reasoning being used as "all companies do it" and even though that might be true, it still doesnt make it a good thing...

Lots of people file chargebacks when a seller doesnt use DC
Lots of people claim empty envelopes when they arent.

I'm probably just being an idealist but it was very possible for Leaf to do it differently and at some point, how many times is the excuse "all the other companies do it" going to be ok. I like BG and in many cases I like his product but he is making it harder and harder to even consider spending a penny on his brand. Full disclosure can be your friend even though I mocked it for a few days with Jeff. Just freaking say it instead of coming here and bringing attention to it.

Do all other companies do it though? Would a Topps, Panini or Upper Deck employee be allowed to purchase 20 cases of a product directly from their facility and be one of the first to list them on ebay? I doubt it.

Topps has an employee store where they can purchase product at a discount, but I'm not sure how much they can buy at once.

Being the first to list can certainly be huge advantage, particularly to first product of the new draft class.

I can assure you our company procedures going forward will limit purchases of new products (and pricing for employees will remain at dealer direct pricing)..

While in this case the employee received no special consideration, I am aware of the concerns brought up and have addressed them moving forward.

I know Joe (wjc) and trust him completely - if he says there's nothing shady about it, then I believe him. He hit a home run on supers but got 1 redemption in 20 cases...so it cuts both ways.

That said, selling cases to employees who bust them is always going to come with some conspiracy risk

So earlier when you said you didn't know who this guy was.. You were mocking us and giggling, or kidding?

It has come to my attention that this WJC guy works for Leaf. WOW, no wonder you pulled so many supers!!!

To quote a catchy tune about grandpa's clothes........ "This is f*cking awesome...."

I don't know who this guy is but that's a lot of supers!

I know Joe (wjc) and trust him completely - if he says there's nothing shady about it, then I believe him.

Saying you see nothing shady, then a few pages later looking shady yourself, doesn't say a whole hell of a lot.

This whole thread stinks. Lies and crap from page one.

Not going to sit here and say I will never purchase a Leaf card again because I will buy singles, no doubt. If I stopped buying cards from every company who has done something suspect, I wouldn't have any cards to collect. But I will guarantee I never buy a hobby box of Leaf anything.

BG, I truly hope you are handling the issues here, Leaf has made some amazing football products that I have enjoyed, but the peanut gallery here that was either trying to help or cover up, made you look guilty as XXXX.

The fact that "wjc" only got 1 redemption, instead of the 4 or 5 the odds would say he should, does help it look less shady.

But how do we know he didn't get more than one? Is there any way to confirm that, or is it just a matter of taking his word at face value...

"I want to make sure the real customers are getting these redemptions because they are a huge selling point. Here take these loaded with just supers"

The whole redemption vs super thing doesn't bother me. I'm not going all conspiracy theory thinking a Leaf employee got loaded cherry picked cases. I honestly don't think that happened.

What does bother me is the fact a Leaf employee was able to directly purchase 20 cases of a product, and be one of the first to start listing on ebay. Then fudge the truth and have others do the same for him. I said it a few times in this thread already... It looks bad.

Edit to add: I don't even care that a Leaf employee was able to purchase multiple cases. Perks of the job. I can see where some would care, but I'm no prospector or flipper. I have a solid PC to focus on. I care about the lies that have brewed in this thread from multiple members and mods since page one. Did I say this yet? It looks bad.

Should follow a similar lead other companies use for new product releases: employees can't purchase them for something like 30 or 60 days.

So a collector spending $16K on cards isn't a real customer?

You probably have Oliver Stone on speed dial..

You forgot the part of my post that said it was a conspiracy theory that I didn't believe. It still doesn't look good and what really bothered me was the bumbling fumbling lies that ensued. I'm over it though, carry on.
