Halsey was the starter for the Yanks in the game in which Jeter jumped into the stands against Boston. He also gave up Bonds 714th HR. RIP

Sad to hear, I remember him as part of the Big Unit trade 10 years ago. Lots of potential but never panned out. I think I got this for $15 or so back in the day, it was my very first Superfractor. RIP Brad.

Sad news.

How did he die? Little surprised that was not said... not like it is usual to just all the sudden pass away in your mid-30s.

He died in a climbing accident.
From USAToday.com:

Former major league pitcher Brad Halsey died Friday in a recreational climbing accident near his New Braunfels, Texas home, according to a person close to Halsey's family.
The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because details of Halsey's death have not yet been made public.

It's been all over the news here in Austin, as he went to UT. Some sort of rock climbing accident. Sad.
