I was fortunate to come across a Beckett 9.5 Pan Am blue awhile back with all sub grades of 9.5 except the surface which was a 9. Bummer. I like you Ross would prefer a PSA 10. Just my preference.

George

Edited: By the way Ross very nice MCDAG & Pan Am blue graded cards.

George, the surface is always the issue with those cards...that and the McDag actually. I doubt there exists a Gem Mint or Pristine version of the Auburn issue that would receive a 9.5 for the surface. Every copy I've ever seen has at least some faint ink on the reverse from the stacking of the sheets.

I recall a Pan-Am blue on e-bay less than a year ago, where I pushed the bidding to about $200. It was either a 9.5 BGS or a PSA 10.....but it was not miscut on the back. I wish I had bid higher, as iI have never seen another that is not miscut on the back.

Randy, that was a PSA 10. I didn't bid because I think it was trimmed. It looked small in the holder to me. Every BGS 9.5 I've seen had the miscut back, as does the other PSA 10 (there are only 2). It's such an obscure card I think an ignorant grader passed that PSA 10 that sold last year. My PSA 9 will be in a 10 holder one day, it's gorgeous.

i beleive that BGS 9.5 was from a guy who found a sealed case at some sort of estate sale. he sent in 10 to BGS and received three 9.5's and seven 9's not sure what he did with the rest of the raw copies, but i think he sold most if not all the graded ones on ebay.

i don't recall that PSA 10, but i don't think it was trimmed as most of the cards in the set vary in size. if you have a complete set take a look at it and you will see what i'm talking about, i'm assuming the sets were hand cut. below is a copy were the back is not miscut, to bad it has that red ink on it. one of the BGS 8.5's i sent in also has a centered back.

Hey Thomas guys,

If any of you want this card, I can let it go for $80 dlvd. It's a 2004 Playoff Prime Cuts Timeline Triple Game Used Jersey/Bat/Pants Autograph #1/5. PM me if interested, first reply takes it.

Thanks!
John

Very nice Randy. Sorry if I ran up the bid on that gold DD for you, but you got it for an amazing price considering the last one that was properly listed went for almost $60! How much were you able to talk the PSA 9 YCTG gold down to?

Well, I won that exact PSA graded gold card about 2 months ago on ebay for $10. Prior to winning it I offered the seller $30 to end the auction early, and he said he couldn't go that low. So, I won the auction and got the tracking number, and it never registered the shipment as being made........he said he made it, and it must have gotten lost in the mail, and he would let me know if it ever comes back to him. Sure enough, a month later I see it on COMC for $24.....I sent him a kind note on e-bay asking him to accept my offer of $12, and he did. Thankfully, that mailing actually came to me!

Glad you did not push that gold DD card up any more as I had a $70 bid in!
