Save your grading money, those are 2 copies of the most common version of the Jordan counterfeit on the market. Wrong blue and red along the borders, yellow flag next to "Premier" should be orange, etc. They're definitely counterfeit.

Completely agree. A few other problems:
1. Finding two Jordan rookies with identical centering is a warning sign
2. On the back, there is a decimal missing on the "AVG" of "27.2"
3. Photo is faded
4. Bulls logo on the back doesn't have clean lines. You can see breaks along the border of the bulls head.

I'd love to add a copy to my counterfeit collection. Please let me know if you'd like to sell or trade.

I think we can all agree to be happy that an old woman was able to parlay some Starting Lineups into $30 and got her smokes.

Hate to sound overly pessimistic but there's no way those Jordans are real.
I would have bought them myself for $30 because it's worth the gamble to find out but anyone with half a brain has an idea of what those are worth.

I'm pretty sure most everybody overlooked this post from someone who knows.

Not I ..... ;)

Now not being in the know, I do remember several years ago people were knowingly paying $50-$100 for counterfeit Jordan's. I don't know if they were not as common as they are today or if it was a certain counterfeit, but do these things draw any money these days?

Game, set, match! These aren't the real deal.

As for the OP buying what he did at $30, even if they were legit copies, who cares? It would be dumb to go somewhere, get a legit steal, and not be happy. Unless you switch the price stickers or you actually steal the items, all you are doing is paying what is accepted. There is nothing wrong with that. It is the sellers responsibility to know what they have. I can't count on all my fingers and toes how many times I have been at a reasle shop or garage sale and they have some late 80's or early 90's baseball cards that aren't worth their weight in excrement and they proceed to want a million bucks because they heard on television that "old cards" are worth good money. I think by now, every person who hasn't lived under a rock understands that there is money involved in our hobby. Knowing that, if they feel they have cards that might be worth money, why not spend like 10 minutes seeing what they have before they sell it? It's not on the buyer.

And I'll say this...not all of us buy to resell. I don't care if I got a card for $1. If I buy a card, I'm not reselling it. So to me, something may be worth all the money in the world but if I buy it because I want it, I haven't made any money on it even if it is worth $400 or whatever. Because I am not going to resell. So to me, what something is worth doesn't matter. So paying less than the going rate is cool for me. I'm not reselling so its value does nothing for me. And in that case, paying less than it's worth is actually better for me since I'll never see that money.

I don't know how anyone can tell if those Jordans are fake or not based on those not so great quality scans. You really need a magnifying glass to get a good look at the dot matrix pattern of the card, and then you can also see the subtle differences between the real thing and a fake one.

And again, the point of criticism isn't the showing off of a steal or whether or not those cards are real or fake. The funniest part is that he talked the seller down by a few more bucks when he already had a rob-granny-blind steal in his mind.

Comedy at it's best!

Never intended on "robbing" anyone. I paid what I felt was worth the investment risk for the cards. Turns out I made the right choice eh? How many of you suckers would've dropped $100 thinking they are "Real Jordan RCs"? A good majority I'm guessing based on the replys. So you guys can keep overpaying, while I get all the good deals.

You're missing the decimal point right off the bat from what I can see. That is a dead giveaway right there.

I see that....

So I've posted it on the basketball forum to get a 2nd opinion, but from the looks of it they're reprints. :(

You probably shouldn't have used the word steal then... How about "Bought these at a garage sale today" or how about "Opinions on these 2 Jordan rookies I got at a tag sale today"
Just sayin... You start saying stuff like grandma and haggled down the price and of course people are going to say stuff its human nature. If you said it was some college kid texting with his Ipod in his ears then its all good.

Yeah, they're probably fakes, and the OP was smart in only offering $30 for the package, but from the thread title, including comments he wrote about the proprietor, and a general understanding of the psychology involved, I think it's hard to dispute that a small part of him wanted to exploit this woman's naivety. Yes, part of the motivation of offering $30 was to protect himself in the event that she and her son were trying to do the same to him, and they were fakes, but I highly doubt that this was a negotiation that attempted to leave both parties happy.

One side wants justice, the other wants riches. I think both sides are partly correct. Do I think you were wrong in what you did? Morally, maybe. From a financial stance, no, but who are we to judge. Congrats on the find if they're real; though even if they're fake, they make great display pieces.

OP: it was definitely worth the $30 to snag em up. It sure beats paying $300+ for one you suspect is real only to find out it's a counterfeit, as many have done in the past. Plus, you could still get some ROI selling them as fakes.

In the future, temper your expectations on a steal. If it looks too good to be true, it likely is.
