I don't get it. If anything the trade will get Fuentes to the big leagues quicker. From a Red Sox standpoint, he's a 19 year old with a lot of upside, but he is the epitome of raw. 1 out of every 10,000 Fuentes' turn into a bonafide superstar. His CEILING is Jacoby Ellsbury.

Here is Gonzalez's PETCO spray chart overlayed on Fenway Park.

So instead of 11 homeruns Gonzalez would have 31...at home only.

I pray to god he cant hit AL Pitching. lol

wow, that is realy cool. DOes this take into account the green monster? OR just the distance? I ask because on that chart there are a TON of "homeruns" that just clear in Left field, with the moster, or those actually out? Or are they off the monster? Just wondering.

Thanks for posting that chart.
Similar to the type of stuff you saw looking at Beltre's chart projecting him last year. A lot of long fly balls in Safeco that become extra base hits this past season.

Hopefully he can be just as successful acclimating himself to a new city and and in his case, new league.

"All three prospects the Red Sox would give up in the Gonzalez deal were drafted by former scouting director Jason McLeod, who's now the Padres' assistant GM. The Padres discussed trying to obtain shortstop Jose Iglesias, a team source said, but decided to make Kelly the centerpiece of the trade."


From all that has come out, the Padres had their choice of Iglesias or Kelly to headline the package.

From all that has come out, the Padres had their choice of Iglesias or Kelly to headline the package.

I knew it wasn't true, just wanted to see if he had a link for it....I am real glad they didn't choose Iglesias. Kelly will be a much better fit for them though as he can pitch, play short, as well as hit. Who doesn't love a hitting pitcher(in the NL)? I never really saw Kelly fitting into our team (as a starter at least) for quite some time, but I do see Iglesias making an impact within the next season or two..
