Sanchez benched, McElroy to start vs. Chargers on Sunday.

Thanks Rex, just a bit too f'n late......

Even though we won a week ago Sunday, wasn't the Jags game enough of an indicator Sanchez SUCKS and that McElroy should've been suited up and playing down the stretch?

SAME OLD JETS.

Wait until the season's screwed before making the change that should've been made weeks ago.

It's tough being a Jets fan.

Not sure whether McElroy is the answer, but the Sanchez experiment went on way too long...

Lol, four picks against the Titans. If I were him, I'd have tied a cinder block around my ankle and dove straight into the Hudson River by now.

Sanchez has always been horrible. The issue is the coach and the management more than anything.

sorry but the problem with the jets is the coach. This news on whos starting QB is also such a slap in the face to Tebow since he aint startin.

I have to agree with you with you on the Rex Ryan part. He needs to go, he's needed to go for years not but they keep him around for some reason.

I don't agree with you about Tebow starting. Tebow looked lost out there last night when he got in for that series.

McElroy probably would have started the last few weeks but I'm pretty sure he was injured and couldn't play? I'm not saying he is the answer, but hopefully he does well enough so the Jets and the NFL can get rid of Sanchez, he's an embarrassment. I know he has a depleted wide receiver corp but there's still no reason why he's allowed to play and consistently through INT after INT. Sure Andrew Luck throws a lot of INTs but he also throws a lot of touchdowns and is able to complete passes when they matter and win games. Sanchez has never proven he can do any of that and needs to be gone ASAP.

I think they draft a QB, cut Sanchez and Tebow, and sign a veteran QB until the draft pick is ready to start.

Jets move Sanchez and tebow and trade for Kirk cousins. Hate to see him go but think he and Stephen hill could be great together. Nothing behind it, just a thought.

I know I''m in the minority with this statement, but Ryan hasn't been the problem up until now.....the fact he was saddled with several albatrosses by ownership is.

He took the job in '09 even though he did not want Brian Schottenheimer as OC or to trade up for Sanchez.

Those were Woody Johnson's calls.

And he made the most of it those first two years, by running the damn ball 45 times a game.

Last year, coming off 2 straight AFC championship appearances, he had no choice at all, Sanchez had to start even when playing poorly, which he did down the stretch. Who was he going to play, 107 year old Mark Brunell?

McElroy was hurt and on IR LAST YEAR with the broken thumb from preseason, which Rex later came out and said was a mistake, they never should have IR'd him.

This year, Rex brought in Drew Stanton to compete for "backup", then Woody flirts with and gets rebuffed by Manning, trades for Tebow and gives Sanchez 8 million dollars for this year and next in his re-tooled contract extension.

It seems pretty clear that was a "Rex, here's your franchise QB and star athlete/weapon on offense, now just shut up and coach while we sell a ton of jerseys" gesture by Woody Johnson.

As for McElroy, I'll just say this...even though it's slightly biased, when Joe Namath (and he's been sober for years, this ain't falling-down-drunk Joe trying to french kiss Suzy Kolber on the sidelines) comes out and says the best QB on the team is the 3rd string guy....

I hated that they IR'd McElroy last year...he was healthy and ready to go by week 7, and would have been an upgrade over what Sanchez gave us in the second half of the season.

A QB who's smart, can read a defense, completes 70% of his passes, doesn't turn the ball over constantly, and has a strong enough arm to hit the two fastest receivers on the team in stride down the field? Yeah, who'd want that...everybody but the owner, apparently.

Anyone else feel kinda bad for Tebow this year?

The Jets trade for him knowing damn well he wasnt going to factor at all into their offense (or team, really) but rather be Rex and Woody's media token.

People dont really care as much because it's Tebow and they love to bag on him but to be in that position as any player blows

There's certain plays that can't lose: keep Jordan as a Bull (even if he don't win championships) - and send Tebow to Jacksonville. Sell tix all day every day.

Correction....Woody's media token.

Rex didn't want him, repeatedly stated that Tebow would NOT be the starting at any time at QB, and at most stated he'd find ways to use him.....and then didn't.

He couldn't have shouted it any clearer that he has absolutely no use for or desire for Tebow to be on this team.

Except the Jags new owner already has his billions and doesn't want to sell tix all day every day while losing ...he wants to WIN, and sustained winning will not be possible with a QB whose average line will look something like 6 of 19 for 73 yards, with one of those passes being a 54 yarder.

Tebow's not a pro QB, anybody who thinks he is is just deluding themselves.

No chance I feel bad

I will say it. The only reason he is still in the league is because of his faith(cash cow) and what he stands for. Oh yeah and he is white
