No chance I feel bad

I will say it. The only reason he is still in the league is because of his faith(cash cow) and what he stands for. Oh yeah and he is white

Agree with the first part but do think his intangibles are worth something, perhaps translating into a coaching role down the road. I don't thing being a white guy means much except to a small minority or racist rednecks. The best selling jersey right now is the very non-white Robert Griffin III, a God fearing Baptist dubbed "Black Jesus" in some Twitter circles, who also happens to play good football on an historically popular team potentially making the playoffs.

^^^Big difference.

I think you are under estimating the religion part of it but thats just me. I think if Tebow was a black baptist( with that skill set he currently has) that he would not even be in the league. He has been given a pass based on my previous theories imo

For some reason, Ive always liked Sanchez. I think he's not as bad as he's made out to be, just doesnt have the right fit of pieces around him.

I was hoping to see him land in Seattle back with Carroll, but Russell Wilson's play has shut down any chance of that happening...just my two cents...

I cannot prove otherwise, but I think the bigger factor was Denver blowing a first round draft choice on the guy elevating his perceived value. I don't know why they grabbed him so high aside from the intangibles and being a winner at the previous level. Sometimes those types work out in the end but not the likely outcome for Tebow (Skip Bayless throws a fit). Add in the fluky win streak after getting thrown in the fire, despite being largely on the heels of the defense, and the guy is still around. Sure, Tebow will sell some jerseys but it's not like the Jets needed to fill seats after just missing the Super Bowl two years in a row. Roster spots are too valuable to waste on a guy whose only purpose is to ride pine and sell some apparel. The Jets were probably hoping his mechanics would improve and it's not like they paid much for him. You see this kind of acquisition with baseball pitchers all the time, and often for more dough. I would not at all be surprised to see Tebow linger a couple more years as a third stringer but I think he is destined to coaching or perhaps a commentator. I'd think he'd fit best and probably be fairly popular doing some NCAA pregame stuff in the South.

And it goes from bad to worse........now it's being reported that the Jets are going to try to trade Sanchez in the offseason and are interested in bringing in Michael Vick.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.......the whole organization seems bereft of brains this year.

see post 15 in this thread page 1 :)

Will add-He gets 17 mil if cut or 8.25 if he stays on the roster. No team is going to take on 8.25 for him

Except conventional logic might not apply with Woody Johnson in the owners seat.

He's all about the media attention, and he's arrogant enough to take a huge hit to the teams bottom line if he thinks he can work it into something positive in the long run.

It's obvious most of you don't watch the Jets games and only listen to the soundbites the idiots in Bristol forcefeed you on ESPN.

Right..., Rex is the problem, because it's Rex who keeps throwing picks left and right because he can't read a defense, it's Rex who has a habit of dropping to the ground or trying to shovel pass the ball into the nearest guys hands when he even gets breathed on hard, it's Rex who alienated his best receiver last year to the point of almost going at it onfield...it was Rex who fumbled that snap last Sunday. Damn him to hell.

So how many of you saying Rex is the problem are actually Jets fans?

It is Rex who controls who gets on the field, choosing to stick with Sanchez (who has become a poor man's Ryan Leaf) and creating the Tebow gimmick which hurts the franchise even after Tebow is dropped because of lost picks they could have used. It is Rex who cannot keep his players in line in the case of his alienated wide receiver and ********* linebacker, not to mention all of the "unnamed" locker room media mouthpieces. It is Rex Ryan's job to coach and motivate the team. They often look uncoached and many seem to lack motivation.

When the whole department store is in a downward spiral, it's time to hold the manager accountable. He is at fault for employing every player that's performing poorly. I also blame him for not having "the talk" with Antonio Cromartie and giving him birth control tips, because a coach should sometimes be a father figure. The Cromartie family tree spreads further than the royal family in England.

While you can't blame a coach for isolated mistakes or occasional bad games, it is completely his fault when there's an established pattern of embarrassment on the field, turmoil in the lockerroom, and circus in the media.

Oh, as to the "How many are Jets fans" question - I was a Jets fan. Then Herm Edwards killed that part of me, Eric Mangini ruined the wake, and Brett Favre defiled the corpse. After Favre went on to tank another team's season, I was able to complete the grieving process and now have no vested interest in, nor do I hold any malice towards, the Jets. I'm just a football fan in general.

As far as being force fed ESPN soundbites, I don't watch ESPN. :P

Obviously you're not much of a fan at all, Jets or otherwise, given how off-base you are on several of your points...and begs the question, how many Jets games did you watch this year? Not isolated highlights, entire games?

Rex didn't create the "Tebow gimmick".....doesn't want the guy, never wanted the guy, and has done everything but shout "get this guy out of here" by his non-use of him alone.

Tebow being a Jet can be laid at Woody Johnson's feet alone.

As to players "looking uncoached or unmotivated"...that's bs, especially where the D is concerned. They've played their hearts out and set the offense up in good fashion time and time again, only to have Sanchez f*ck it up over and over again.

Your point about Cro....wow, that's just f'n laughable.

Cro had, what, 7 kids by 6 women in 6 different states BEFORE he became a Jet..are you f'n kidding me? Rex should have a talk with him? I think that boat sailed out of the harbor in San Diego, sport. Maybe Norvell should've been the one stepping up to handle that one a few years ago, don't you think?

As to your last point...real fans don't quit on their teams, despite whatever bad happens....and I don't consider casual fans real fans, just as I don't consider anyone who roots based on their fantasy team lineup real fans.

Not sure offhand, maybe 3 or 4 full games and bits of others while flipping between games.

Does Rex get jealous of another man getting to be at Woody Johnson's feet? Crap. I just got some bad images from using "Rex Ryan", "feed" and "woody johnson" in a sentence. *shivers*

I'll take your word there. I'm going to assume you know more than I do since you're loyal to the team and likely follow behind the scenes more. My saying that was influenced by 1,000 sound bites of a certain hefty man praising Tebow and preaching wildcat, wildcat, wildcat coming into camp. He could have just been saying the right things to the media to keep peace with the owner, but I assumed it wasn't since Rex has always been one of those guys who always says what he really feels.

As to players "looking uncoached or unmotivated"...that's bs, especially where the D is concerned. They've played their hearts out and set the offense up in good fashion time and time again, only to have Sanchez f*ck it up over and over again.

I should have noted that was geared more toward offensive players. It's been over the past few seasons, not just an isolated case or two this year. There are times I've been watching them and thought they just gave up and were only on the field because contracts forced them to be.

I will say some defensive players also fall into the "uncoached" category with how they run around like it's Lord of the Flies when the media rolls into the lockerroom. Coaching doesn't just cover the plays called on the field or the order you are on the depth chart, it's also part of keeping you motivated, keep you aspiring, keeping you a team player, and and when needed, keeping your ass in line.

Cool your jets (pun intended), skippy, it was said with humorous intent. Well, I do believe Cromartie should be neutered, but the majority of what I said was a joke. Take the stick out of your ass and give that a read again.

As to your last point...real fans don't quit on their teams, despite whatever bad happens....and I don't consider casual fans real fans, just as I don't consider anyone who roots based on their fantasy team lineup real fans.

Real teams don't quit on their fans! But seriously, they were not the same team anymore. Gone were Testaverde, Chrebet, Martin, Brady, Santana, and a host of others. Nobody said XXXX about fantasy teams, so please don't invent things to "strengthen" your argument. It makes both of us look like morons.

Also, they brought in Favre. I would have rather seen ****** rise from the grave and scribble a green NY over his swastika armband than see Brett Favre take over that team.

First, the ****** comment isn't appropriate naming Favre and ****** in the same sentence isn't cool.

Second, as a die hard Jets fan I share many of the opinions of westerngac. And by a die hard fan I mean I'd never quit on the Jets no matter who they brought in and how bad they did.

To get to the issues of this thread, Rex Ryan will not get fired nor does he deserve to be. Look at the way the D has played overall without their biggest star on the field. If you put Revis on the best WR and Crom on the 2nd best WR, you open up the playbook in all sorts of ways. Even without Revis, the Jets have set up the offense time and time again in great field position, kept them in games, and flat out won some games albeit against sh**ier teams. Special teams has played above average. McKnight fumbled here and there and they had a punt blocked, but overall they've played solid. It's the offense, Shotty wasn't the guy and it doesn't seem like Sporano is the guy either. Sanchez has never been the guy, we've just never had any alternatives.

Bringing in Tebow was Woody's decision. He's always made decisions like that he's always been about getting media tabloids. With that being said I feel bad for Tebow, not because he should be a starting QB in the NFL, but because he works his ass off and if there was no reason for them to bring him in then why bring him in? He's not a traditional QB by any means but he's a winner no question about that so let him go somewhere where he's actually wanted.

Unfortunately it looks like next season might be another losing season because who are we going to get to replace Sanchez? Alex Smith could be available, Vick will be but he's on the decline. One of the worst QB drafts in recent history. Mcelroy honestly is not our savior. We'll see who they get but I don't have a good feeling about next season.

I would like to go on record as saying I have ancestors who were victims and later refugees of ******'s invasion of Poland and saw no problem with it. If you can't find a way to laugh through tragedy, this world will kick your ass.

I was a fan of the team, not the franchise. First of all, Testaverde is my favorite football player of all time, and then there were so many guys around him I loved to watch play. Once they faded away and guys like Mangini and Favre came in, I had no reason to like the Jets anymore.

4 of my grandma's siblings were in the Holocaust and I simply don't appreciate referencing one of the greatest QBs of all-time in terms of statistics with ******. I don't think that's a funny analogy and I certainly wouldn't laugh at that. I think you're one of the only people who would find something like that humorous if you even had ancestors victimized by him. I know how to laugh at serious events that joke just wasn't funny in the least bit.

I am also a huge fan of Testaverde, and now Peyton Manning is probably my favorite QB doesn't mean I'm going to bandwagon the Broncos. I could care less about whether or not you were or are a Jets fan, but your logic about their organization makes no sense. You're clearly out of touch with what is actually going on, and you listen to commentators like Gruden and Trent Dilfer, who against the Titans commented that "Sanchez's poor play was due to Tebow's involvement in the offense." Seriously that was the stupidest f***ing comment I've ever heard in my entire life by a QB whose widely accepted as the worst QB to ever win a superbowl. He said that when Tebow came in for that one possession against the Titans Sanchez was thrown out of rhythm. What an absolute idiot
