There is deffinitely a stamp on the card, faint as you say.
Does that stamp mean the card is authentic? Were only the numbered buybacks stamped?
Should I still get graded or just mentiion this stamp when I deal with the card?

Thanks much
S

Another Dilemma

This card sold on ebay for $48 2 days ago. There is one on ebay now for $150.
Becket states that it's price is n/a, not due to price scarcity, but due to no recorded sales in the entire 27 player set.

Does the lack of recorded sales mean that the card is scarce? or is Beckett just not keeping up.

Obviously the Griffey sale will show on Beckett but I rarely use Ebay sales to determine worth.

If anyone can help about the scarcity of the card, print size etc, I'd appreciate it.

As far as I know, only the buybacks were stamped. But with all the Fleer backdoored cards, who knows.

Did someone here get the Best Cuts (non-diecut) Prototype on COMC?

I almost picked it up, but I question how rare those things really are. And print lines drive me nuts

Question for anyone

Haven't bought a card in a long time but I did arrange to esnipe a card today.
When I did that, I wrote the seller to tell him I'd be bidding at the end so let me know if there was an offer.
Within minutes, this relatively unpopular card jumps $35 with 2 bids by
a***o( 2268)

If anyone knows who this is please enlighten me. I need the card for a set but I don't want the bid artificially inflated, especially when several others have been up that I had of late without any interest

Thanks much

That does seem high, but looking at it now that most recent bid is $10 more than the next highest bidder. Unless this guy is using multiple shill accounts, it looks legit to my untrained eye.

well I won it for $208.
I have seen no interest in these cards for ages. People can's sell them.
It's just kind of strange it shoots up after I talk with the seller BUT I also realize now I talked to him near auction end, I got the tip late and wasn't aware of the card.
Just interested in why a***o( 2268) would pay that much for this card when none have sold as high. I'm bidding cause of the set of 100 I'm trying to complete and this is #67 / 100 in that set for me.
Prob will never finish it

Anyone on here know how to get in touch with Bruce Laney? I paid him for a handful of cards about 3 weeks ago and now he's not returning my emails (and he hasn't sent the cards). I know he's well known to a bunch of Griffey collectors so I thought it was safe to deal w/ him. Firstly, I hope he's okay health-wise, but I am getting concerned that I may have to get those nutty paypal folks involved to get my money back. If any of you know him or how to get in touch with him, I'd really appreciate if you could ask him to get back to me. All I have is his email: bdlaney@gmail.com. Here's mine: friarg@yahoo.com. Thanks.
