There's another one up now, I may go for. With no numbering, what are the chances it will be more short printed than other un numbered autos?

I have only seen four auctions for these UDX auto's so far.. three have closed. and the one that is on there right now..

Good Luck,

Couldn't the low number of them on ebay, just be because the product was just released?

These have been out for almost a month.. When Ballpark Collections came out there were several of them on EBAY the first day..

There are 17 (3 live) Ballpark Collections auto's and the first one was listed on the 22nd..

Just from the numbers on EBAY tells me that these are more limited than Ballpark Collections..

It's almost like when the 89 UD Griffey buy-back auto's first hit.. I saw one for $500 and thought that was to much..
then later we found out that that would have been a steal as they are limited to /15 I believe.. (Magicpapa has one) and now they go for over $1K..

MAN! I love the cards you guys post! I have noticed that since our boy has hit 600 and the 610 to take control of 5th in the HR race, his cards have SKYrocketed in price for even a lot of the lower-end cards! Anyone else notice that?
Therefore, I have built up collections on other players that are still pretty cheap, although if I didn't spend so much on them, I could afford a nice Griffey or two (gee, there's some logic for myself!)
Anyhow, I got a PM yesterday from a fellow board member who told me that he didn't recognize me until he say my Photobucket link and sort of congratulated me on being the "creator" of the Griffey thread. NOW, I don't think I am, I know I started the 2nd thread after the 1st one crapped out on us.
POINT BEING, hey, thank you guys for showing all of us the REALLY cool cards that are WAY beyond what 99% of us could imagine of having! I am happy to know that this is like, THE BEST thread from Beckett to here and we all carried it on! I'll get back into Griffey and share some more, just wanted to concentrate on Edgar Martinez, Adrian Beltre, Felix Hernandez and Bret Boone some more. I have some BEAUTIFUL cards of theirs I KNOW I could NEVER get of Griffey's for even close to the same price (2008 Erik Bedard Bowman Chrome or Topps Chrome Orange Refractor #/25 for $.25 + $3.00 S/H. WOULDN'T that be great for a Griffey??)
Anyhow, sorry for the long post, just, again, thank you all for carrying on the tradition!
Eric

Well, I like seeing the Griffey stuff too, but I like learning from other collectors even more.
PINBREAKER: Very interesting thoughts on product release and ebay listings. I've never used that before to buy any certain redemptions that I may of passed up otherwise. For example, the UDX autos, I would have skipped simply because they aren't numbered. But then I may miss sp's not numbered and the clue would be less than the number of listings expected after product release. Very cool idea to think about. Numbered auto's are easy, you know what to expect, but scarce un numbered auto releases are much harder to anticipate.

Thanks for the info

Pin- Nice pick up at a good price. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for you to get your card.

Another incredible card Dr. Steve. Absolutely sick.

On a side note, I wanted to congratulate Roy for taking over 1st Place in the Pro Football Pick'em. He has picked 49 games correct so far this year and is sitting all alone in first place. Way to go Roy!

I was surprised to see that :) With everything else going on, haven't had a chance to look at it.

Are you trying to corner the market on those?

I think you need to show one as a reminder why they look so nice..

Hi,
Can either of you guys show the scan of the BACK of one of the 3 rookie cards?

Also what differentiates the /15 buyback auto rookie card from the /99 auto rookie card.

I bought a buyback UD auto rookie card, sold as an /99 buyback, and its in a "Beckett Raw Card Review" holder with seal firmly in place. Its graded an 8.5 for the card (I think the highest grade given to the card) and a 10 for autograph.

How do I know if this card is
a. from /15
b. from /99
c. misrepresented and is a personal auto on a Griffey rookie card or
d. is completely fraudulent

Here are the pictures of the front and back of the card I have (it was on ebay)
I am including FIVE pictures so you can examine it carefully
Please give me your feedback on this card (a thru d above) and whether raw grading helps its value

Well, Bruce sent me by email some photos of the back of the /99 buyback UD Griff Rookie card and my card matches that exactly. There are 2 square rotated as diamond, holograms, on the back of the card. The coa was apparently a folded piece of paper by the same guy who does all the coas on backs of cards. I did not get that with the purchase. But with the BGS authentication of the card with a grade of 8.5 (the rookie cards aren't usually graded due to so many oc cards and other defects), and a 10 for the auto and the holograms on the back with the auto where it should be, I guess its ok and would guess that value is increased because of grading.

As its graded raw, I'm returning it to Beckett, who for $5 will encase it in the typical plastic case and I will request at that time they state the card is /99 buyback card. The same 8.5 grade and 10 for auto will be kept.

I looked and never found another rookie UD Griff card /99 auto buyback rookie card graded higher than 8.5. Have any of you?
What effect on value will the grading have? none? a little? a lot?

I have the 2 fleer cards as well with coa's the /99 and the /500 ones with autos (buybacks).

I would love to get my hands on one of the /15 UD Rookie cards, perhaps MagicPapa will take mercy on me and sell me one of his or maybe I'll find another. And I do have some awesome trade material remember!
