Looking back I worded my post kinda weird. When I saw and won the auction I figured it was for the Totally Certified Platinum Gold Sample like you have in your post. What showed up is the Certified Gold Team sample that I posted. I was looking for info on the Certified Gold Team Sample. Sorry for any confusion.

I went back and edited mine a couple of times after rereading your post. I guess I don't have much to offer since I haven't seen one like yours. I just thought it was interesting that it was missing the peel. I'm sure someone on here has one and will fill us in on the details.

Well....I DID IT!!! I managed to get the last of the three Griffey's in the PR of the 09 inscriptions set! All three have hit ebay now, so this was my last shot at getting it for (arguably) a very long time! Now have all 5 variations from the set!!

No, not me, although I wish it were. A collector from Florida named Rick has an unbelievable collection of Griffeys (close to 900 autos alone). Here's the link to his bucket:

Just sold him a card, an insert with glove and ball hand numbered to 5. Think I posted it before, it was a special buyback and does have the stamp engraved on it.
Siefert is a long time Griffey Collector and most of us have had contact with him over the years

Since I haven't appealed to all my Griffey collector buddies in a long time for this, I'll just renew the request.
The only card I'm interested in buying is Griffey's Red Crusade. I've been trying for about 3 years and will continue to do so.
I'd appreciate any leads from long time friends or new members but any help would be very appreciated in locating a person willing to sell one.

Steve, your card is one from the 2005 Donruss Throwback Threads Polo Grounds series.

Specifically, the 2005 Throwback Threads Polo Grounds 45 BALL Short 3 #1 Ken Griffey Jr. There are a mere 45 Griffeys in the Polo Grounds set.

Hey Guys!!! I picked this up at my LCS and was wondering if anyone has an idea on the print run, retail/hobby, etc. on it? I haven't been able to find it in any checklist (searched a bunch of old ones from 2009 as well as the "big" books) and haven't even found a clue about it with online search:

Alex, I just looked and saw one auto for UD X..

2008 Upper Deck X Signatures #KG Ken Griffey Jr. EXCH

and yes I know that it reads 2009 on the back.. but UD did have some delays and that might have been a late season product..

The Griffey X auto is a 2009. There are only 7 autos listed for the set and Griffey is not one of them.
