I had a couple of others offers around the same price, but I was still happy with $100, even though it has sold higher in the past. The promo is the real tough one. I picked up the Dufex Griffey in a complete set.

Wow! Someone got a good deal. I think I paid $150 for mine a few years ago.

Help guys? Seller claims this is a buyback 1/1 from 2003 ultimate...but for some reason I think this may be off the mark. Not surprising that Beckett doesn't list a 1/1 version, only /50, but I've never seen one numbered "01/01" like this. The auto looks spot on, but I have a nagging feeling the serial # has been tampered with. What do you guys think? Am I being paranoid?

I agree with the possible tampering of the number...i had a time where i collected buybacks heavily, and even specifically that subset, and i dont recall ever reading or seeing a 1/1 listed in beckett or for sale....however, i can tell you that cards in the single digits were 0x/xx....i have two that are 04/xx and 09/xx. Probably doesnt help much, but beckett did a good job with listing the cards correctly as far as ive seen

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. Probably enough doubt there that I'm gonna pass it up. Don't be surprised if its on eBay in a few days. Seller sounded pretty eager to get rid of it.

PC card landed thanks to awesome griffey collectors/members.

Hey Guys, just got in a white whale of mine that I have been after for a while. In april a bunch of these got listed but unfortunately I missed them due to being in law school finals. I don't really collect Griffey but having family roots from Tacoma made him a childhood hero of mine and this is one card I really wanted.

First and foremost I wanna thank JPCZ for hooking me up with a Member of the forum who was looking to move this item, he was awesome and really went out of his way to get ahold of me. Members like him are what making trading/collecting awesome!

Second I want to thank gimmetheremote. He was the member/friend JPCZ hooked me up with and he was awesome and a flawless seller. Everything came quick and the transaction was painless. It seemed so easy for a card that I had been chasing for a while, almost too easy and I really want to say thank you to him.

Anyways here is the card #48/99, it is in perfect condition.
