Just 2 throw in my 2 cents. Not only are the Balck ink (14 through 88, minis the one Beckett has [doesn't fit into my theory]) in the same series they seem to be in order. Here is a list that I made will all the Black ink ones with the one we know (with COA's) and the order of the rest. Hope this make sence to someone besides myself. Seems strange to me that all the one that are known and have COA fall in with all the others.

"FINAL WORD" BECKET / UPPER DECK ON MY 2 CARDS

As you all know I've been in contact over several weeks with a vice president from Beckett who has been helping me with the 2 Griffey Jr 2009 buyback rookie cards I have, with hologram numbers which don't fit into the "list" of ones with COA numbers. I have now heard back from the VP at Beckett who states that the card, authenticated by Beckett, the black #13/89 auto card, is fraudulent. He states that because Beckett authenticated the card, they will refund my money in full to get the card back and destroy it ( I paid $2400 privately for it).

Next he states that after talks with Upper Deck and verification of the hologram # my blue signature card, #81/89 is authentic and matches their (Upper Deck's) hologram number. He states that the upper deck supervisor was firm in stating that that card was authentic.

The Beckettt VP further stated, that because of this incident, Beckett has changed their policy and will no longer authenticate any card, considered a buyback, which originally had a COA, if it does not have the COA. ie. they will return any buyback card to the sender which does not have a COA if a COA orginally came with the card on release. This applies to the 2009 Griffey jr. RC buyback series of 89 cards.

Lastly I would like to thank any forum members who were active in researching these cards which may be fraudulent and keeping a record of the cards to save others from being "taken". I would not stand a chance of getting my $2400 back were it not for the effort of people like Roy in this forum. Also thanks to John who pointed out to me that Roy was keeping a record and started me on my own quest to solve the mystery of the fake cards as it pertained to myself.

Now there is the question of my 2nd card, the one signed in blue ink, and Upper Deck's insistance that the card is real and the number matches the hologram number as it was released on the COA. It is out of sequence with the majority of cards Roy has been tracking with COA's. If it is real, as Upper Deck claims, then thre are some cards, which are not fake and which are not in the sequence.

That may be the case, but I would not touch any card without a COA, period- and that means any buyback sold which came with a COA. Even if its real, you will never be able to sell it, thus it has no real value.

Steve, glad to hear that you are getting your money back on the 13/89. Like you said, don't buy any buybacks without the COA. Your other one will always be in doubt without the COA. At one time UD would reissue a COA for a fee, will they still do that?

Beckett will refund his money, because thay authenticated it as real. They don't want it in circulation.
