I would want even more than that if I was the marlins. You are getting one of the best players in the league, they don't come around too often.

Hanley = top 5 player in baseball
Buchholz - overrated, overhyped, marginal prospect
Ellsbury - Just not that good
The red sox would need to be adding probably another 2 top flight prospects to make this deal happen.

I'm sure they wanted at least three of
Masterson, Ellsbury, Buchholz, Bowden, Anderson, Lester, Lowrie
Which Theo would never do.
Plus they probably ended because Hanley is cheap til 2014. No sense in moving him.
