Looks like JP will have some serious competition

You should probably just let it run on ebay to give everyone a fair chance.

Nice find. I would love a shot at it, been waiting and waiting for it to pop up since 06 BC release date. Bought the first two golds ever on eBay :). Auction is the best place for everyone to have a chance. Sounds like lots of us.

awesome pick up

to save on ebay fees you should run a auction style trade post on here because it seems like a majority of those bidding(exluding wossa) are here.

Wow, I totally saw that at the Philly show yesterday and didn't think anything of it. Congrats on having the balls to pull the trigger.

Hardly...

Opening it up to the rest of the country/world will assure fair market value.

I have no doubt, save for someone offering him some redunkulous ammount here like $1500, he will be more profitable on the bay. Also, he already told everyone here what he paid for it, so this is going to limit some on what they will pay inevidably. To the o.p., if you are going to sell, do yourself a favor. Throw it on the bay and reap the rewards!

You have 10 people here alone who want it. I would Absolutely start this on ebay, $.99, 10 day auction.

This will keep you from leaving money on the table.

Wow, excellent find! $500 is a STEAL for that player and that price...he has no other mainstream cards...PERIOD!

Personally, I would NOT sell that card HERE no matter how much they offer...EBAY all the way to maximize profits!

I see that card going for over $1000 easy once you put it up on ebay...Wossa might want it too which should jack the price up some more!

Thanks for all of the comments and advice fellas. I am in the process of scanning the card now. I didn't realize so many people would be all over this. This is by far the biggest card I've ever purchased. I am surprised myself that I had the moxy to pull the trigger.

I am going out for the rest of the night. I think I am leaning towards an auction on ebay to give everyone a fair chance since there is so much interest. Once I know for sure I will let everyone know. Thanks again for the advice everyone, this truly is the BEST forum for baseball cards.

Is it me or does that thing look gem mint??

Actually, it's slightly o/c left to right, and the bottom corners on the back side are a touch soft. However, it's definitly in good enough shape to command top dollar with condition not being an issue. I'm going out on a limb here and saying that grading this would be counter productive, or at the very least, not worth the time and money.

Interesting. I graduated from Hoover in 79 with Jeremy's dad, Steve Hellickson.
Pretty sure I played little league with him too. His Dad, Jeremy's Grandpa, was a little league coach if I remember right.
Small world.
To the OP, nice pickup and good luck with the auction.

I was just about to say, the bottom corners on the back don't look so hot. Not trying to diss your card! It's a Beauty. It's still the 1/1, so it doesn't really matter, but imo don't grade it. If it comes back an 8.5 it will hurt bad
