Thomas is amazing tonight

No doubt!

Other big news (at least for me) ... Leland Irving (former Everett Silvertip) called-up from Abbotsford. Looking for him to make his debut for Calgary.

the Bruins dominated the Pens last night.

Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek are both out with concussions and Deryk Engelland suffered a lower body injury on Saturday. the Pens defense is extremely depleted right now.

the NHL Board of Governors approved the 4 new Conference in under an hour last night.

they 4 Conferences are as follows...

nhl_approves_conference_realignment.jpg

I think this realignment is perfect and I love the fact that every team will travel to every city at least once during the season. I am not a fan of naming the Conferences after former players. I think they need to stick to regional names.

It's just depressing watching the Capitals lately, but I'll still drag myself to the TV to watch tonight. I can't believe Neuvirth hasn't been shipped out to Hershey, he has pretty much been awful this year.

Sidney Crosby will sit out the next 2 games as a precaution after his collision with teammate Chris Kunitz in Monday night's game.

Penguins vs Flyers starting right now.

LET'S GO PENS!!!

EDIT: the Flyers won 3-2. once again the Penguins failed to show up for the 1st Period, the defense struggled and the Power Play was awful despite James Neal's PP goal.

Being a Lightning fan I am so happy they came away with the win after what Anismov did.

If you haven't seen it, Anismov scored a goal to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead and then celebrated by getting down on 1 knee and shooting at the lightning's goalie Garon. Lecavalier was the first one to charge at Anismov and then everyone was trying to get at him. Everything calmed down and then Stamkos threw a punch at him which is overreacted to and fell to the ice.

Tell me about it. Grubauer is the only goalie doing better than expected, the rest are doing worse, or are Sabourin and some ECHL depth guy.

Get going Holtby

ESPN reporting Crosby out indefinitely. Is this the beginning of the end of his career? He wasn't hit in the head and concussion related symptoms returned.

NO.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said that he’s experienced concussion-like symptoms the past few days after taking several hits against the Boston Bruins last Monday and is being careful about his health before returning to the lineup.

"Not (feeling) bad. I'm not happy about watching, but I have to make sure with these sort of things that I'm careful and making sure I'm 100 percent before coming back,” Crosby said. “No timetable (for return).?"

Crosby said there are encouraging signs after he did well on the ImPACT test and he feels better than when he previously missed 10 months due to a concussion.

"I did my ImPACT test and it went pretty good,” Crosby said. “That was a good sign. It's much different than previously going through that stuff. That was encouraging.”

Crosby said he didn’t feel right after Pittsburgh’s contest against Boston, which was the reason he took the test the following day.

“I just didn’t feel right,” he said. “I skated the following day after that with a little bit of exertion. I just didn't feel right. After talking with everyone I figured it was better to be cautious and not take any chances. That's where I'm at right now.”

Crosby added that he feels much better than he did in August while recovering from a concussion, and that his current recovery will hopefully not take as long as his previous absence.

"I've been doing light exertion stuff and seeing how that goes,” he said. “It's that whole (recovery) routine again, but hopefully not as long. When I wasn'tdoing something for 6, 7 months that process was a little longer. Hopefully, that's not the case here.”

Crosby did say he wasn't sure which hit caused his current symptoms, but the collision with David Krejci is a possibility.

“I don’t know. I know I got hit in the head there," Crosby said. "I felt pretty good after that. I didn’t feel anything too major. If I had to look at one hit, yeah. The collision with Kunitz was knee-on-knee. If anything it was probably that one with (Krejci)."

Marc-Andre Fleury is going for his 200th career win tonight against the Red Wings. Fleury recorded his 1st win against the Red Wings in 2003.

EDIT: Red Wings win 4-1
