How did you find Freedomcardboard?

I was on BMB for many years and when the ship started to sink, I noticed everyone was jumping off. I then got emails from member friends telling me everyone is now on FCB and I should join.

I actually didnt "join" for a while, just read the posts until I signed up at the National on whatever that date reads to the left.

Anthony Majors PM'd me on BMB on August 5th, 2008 3:06:40 PM about it. Well, actually it was a link to the beckettmb.proboards55.com site which eventually lead to here.

I joined beckett back in 97 and met a bunch of losers like myself, Got banned from BMB in 07. I really didnt visit many sites till biggmack2001 (AJ) told me about this site in 09. Always thought gilmore was an idiot on BMB, Still think that though.

I've never been a big fan of the naming of the site, I thought that there were some pretty good ideas for the name of this site but the masses went with Freedom Cardboard ultimately.

I remember lurking around Beckett back in the day but never actively posted then was bummed when it went away. Then I was lurking on blowouts forums and heard FCB being talked about so I checked it out.

I remember the first time trying to come here the server was down so I didn't get through and I dropped it. A few weeks later it got mentioned again so I tried again and saw how awesome it was here.

I was a long time member of the old BMB. Joined the old BMB back in 2002/03 season some time and was on the BMB every day. We all knew the changes on Beckett were coming in early August 2008. Well just before the changes took place (in late July of 2008), i went on a 3 1/2 month vacation driving across the United States (From Calgary to Los Angeles to New York and back) and did not take my lap top with me, since i was on vacation with friends and we were out and about doing stuff every single day.

When i returned to Calgary in November of 2008 i immediately turned on my laptop and logged into Beckett. Every thing was different and i did not recogonize a single person. The next couple of days i lurked on the new BMB now and then trying to see what was going on. Like i said, everyone was gone and the place was a ghost town, i was very disappointed and i honestly thought most everyone just quit using hobby message boards (I know, what was i thinking? ::facepalm:: :lol: ).

The next few months, i lurked (and posted once and awhile) on a few different hobby boards but really none of them interested me that much because i had spent so many years with the old BMB crowd and it was really hard to find a new online sports card community that i really enjoyed and were i felt like i fit in, like i did on the old BMB.

I still remember the day i found FCB. I was lurking on the Spawn message boards and there was this thread about the Razor president cuts set and justinmandawgs group breaks, with a link to FCB. I clicked on the link and it brought me to FCB. I instantly started seeing names like Thosebackpages, Jaypers, Justinmandawg and everone else from the old BMB. You would not believe how happy i was . I still remember freaking out and telling my GF that "I had found everybody"!! :lol: Before finding FCB, i was honestly losing interest in the hobby as i had "lost" my online community and i was only checking out other message boards maybe a couple times a week.

Anyways... thats my story with finding my way back home, to FCB. Been on here every single day and many hours a day ever since finding it. Sometimes i wsonder where id be had i not discovered FCB that day. I don't believe i had ever told anyone how i found my way here before.
