I'm giving you a time machine and $10,000 spending money (if you're about to run out, just bet on one of the games - you know the outcome) for tickets, beer, hot dogs and clothes (don't want to stick out like a sore thumb). You tell me which ten specific MLB games you're going to use it to go see.
My personal list...
1) 9/4/1891 - Cap Anson plays an entire game in a long white false beard, to silence critics saying he is too old.
2) 10/14/1908 - Cubs most recent World Series victory.
3) 4/12/1927 - Opening Day at Yankee Stadium, with Murderer's Row lineup. Waite Hoyt outduels Lefty Grove for the win. Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins, Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane and Zack Wheat in the lineup for the Philadelphia Athletics.
4) 8/30/1930 - Cubs beat the Cardinals 16-4 at Wrigley, and Hack Wilson earns 6 of the single season record 191 RBI's he'll gather that year.
5) 10/1/1932 - Ruth's called shot at Wrigley, Game 3 of World Series.
6) 4/15/1947 - Jackie Robinson's first game
7) 9/28/1955 - Game One of World Series Dodgers vs. Yankees. I want to see Jackie Robinson steal home against Yogi Berra, and I want to be a part of Brooklyn's lone World Series win.
8) 4/30/1956 - Don Zimmer gets beaned in the head by Red's Hal Jeffcoat. Macabre, I know, but an important event in the career of the guy I collect.
9) 9/6/1995 - Ripken breaks Gehrig's streak.
10) 11/4/2001 - Game 7 of the Yankees/Diamondbacks World Series. I want to scream my head off after Grace starts the 9th inning rally.
