Armando just said on MLB that Joyce apologized to him after the game and seemed to have tears in his eyes.

EDIT: And Joyce actually gave him a hug.

Here's a question: once Joyce made the call on the field, is there even a way for an Ump to retract the call? I mean, say he did a: "safe...uh...I mean....OUT!" If an umpire has a brain fart, can the call even be changed. I mean, this is the ultimate hypothetical, because that would mean there is an umpire who would have the humility to admit they are wrong.

I am SOOOOOOOOO fracking pissed at Jim Joyce. How in the frack could he miss that call on the LAST OUT of the game!!???He should never fracking umpire a MLB game again. He just fracked that kid out of history on the baseball diamond.Jim Leyland or Miguel Cabrera or SOMEONE should have beat the shat out of this guy on the field after the game.Tim Kurkjian just said on ESPN that he doesn't think that MLB will even fine him for it. That is a bunch of ********. He was CLEARLY out by a LONG DISTANCE!I just don't know what else to say. That is the worst call at 1st base since the Don Denkinger fuckjob.I hope this ****** gets what's coming to him. He deserves some serious horrible karma headed in his direction.**** him.

Ugh, once again, way to take things to the next level...just absolute class all around.

It's a damn baseball game people. Bad call, yes. Sucks for Galarraga, yes. But to wish harm on someone?? I'm sure this really had a big impact on YOUR personal life too...so I do indeed feel terrible for you as well. In fact, I will think more of you tonight rather than Galarraga...because I'm sure this was SUCH a huge impact on you. I'm so sorry for you that it's impacted you so much, that you wish harm on Jim Joyce.

Oh wait, this must just be sarcasm too...maybe you and Josh Hamilton should go hang out and sarcastically wish harm on people, and maybe go and sarcastically yell "bomb" on an airplane, and see how that goes over.

Are you going to start an argument with Sam as well? We get it, people are going overboard. We also get that you think people here lack class. Repeating it each time someone says something doesnt increase how people view your stance on the matter.

People are angry and once again, officials are taking control of games and not allowing players to dictate how things play out. Its a message board though. People are going to post opinions. If you dont like it, too bad. People's minds arent being changed based on who likes their point of view.

You're right, people will post opinions...just like me. Sam's opinion is Jim Joyce should have his ass beat over a call in a baseball game. Your opinion is that a missed call in baseball is the same as someone murdering someone. My opinion is that poeple who think things like that are classless.

If YOU don't like it...too bad. Am I not allowed my opinion too??

Who gives a quit swearing Its like people that are getting a lethal injection and they want to apologize for their crime. The moment is gone, the event is over and your choice screwed you.

You're an idiot. The guy made a mistake in a baseball game. You are comparing him apologizing to a murderer. Unreal.

No, Im not comparing the umpire's call to a murderer, you stupid ass. Im comparing the fact that apologizing for mistakes AFTER they are confronted with it rather than BEFORE makes the apology worthless.

Sorry, was that comparison over your head? I can't break it down any further.

Hey guys, as much as it sucks, hold your selves together. Avoiding the swear filter will get you suspended. Yes, Sam, I'm talking to you. See you tomorrow.

You'd have tears in your eyes too if there were over 25,000 people in a 1/4 mile radius waiting for you to go to your car!

How could he know the call was wrong before he saw the replay? He apologized as soon as he saw he was wrong. He made a mistake, and he feels horrible about it.

Jeez, I figured you guys were smarter than this to get the comparison of being apologetic after the fact being worthless.

All are welcome to their opinions, even you Sly ;)

Well, it's a terrible comparison. A muderer knows what he's doing when the person is lying there dead on the floor. Jim Joyce couldn't see the replay until AFTERWARDS. Why should he apologize beforehand for someone he feels he got correct?

At least the Jim Joyce is man enough to admit he made a mistake. Some umpires would refuse to do that. Good for him for apologizing and admitting that he made the wrong call.

I can't believe so many people honestly feel that Joyce should be fired. How many of you can say that you've never made a mistake at your job? I'd be that answer is zero. He made a mistake, yes, however that doesn't mean he should lose his livelihood.

Everything you say just sounds stupid. do you always have to sound like a *****?

You are that obnoxious, loud American guy that foreigners look at and then assume that every American is the same way.

Exactly...and to GarkoCollector's point, what would have been a better comparison would be if Joyce had waited until he was punished by MLB to admit he got the call wrong and apologized then.

He was out of position to make the call and screwed Galarraga. Feeling horrible about something doesnt change things. THAT was the point of my comparison.

He gets a little annoying with it, but i don't think he was intentionally trying to avoid the swear-filter with that f-job combo; as I'm assuming that's the one that slipped thru.

That swear filter can be tricky, since when you assume it's on all the time, you aren't paying attention to everything you type and can accidentally let some weird form of the word thru.

Just my $0.02.

Agreed. You stated my own point better than I did. Post thanked.

He was?
It seems like he would be standing in the same spot as always if there was no one on base.
