Count me in the camp of those who passed on Pujols' Chrome RC autos. I refused to pay full book for it - when BV was $300. It sat in the same case at the local show for a couple of months, if I remember correctly; so I'm not the only one with that regret.

Litteraly 2 weeks after I blew $1000+ on an eBay ****, the 2008 Sterling Yount Bat Barrel hit eBay. I would have paid thru the nose and more for it. I was completely crushed. If I had only known.

I have been pretty lucky when it comes to my collection. The only card I ever regretted not purchasing was the 2003 Leaf Certified Materials Mirror Black Autograph for $125, however I ended up being able to pick it up 6 months ago for $50 so I guess in the long run it paid off but man did I hate myself for not buying it for a couple years.

An Alan Trammell bat barrell from Leather & Lumber, IIRC. The auction got too rich for me and I paased thinking I would see another one. Haven't seen another Trammell barrell.

I had a chance to buy the Alex Gordon 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Superfractor 1/1. I was in a bidding war with one other guy and lost it with a bid of $295. The guy ended up being a shill bidder and I was offered a second chance offer but I declined because I was pissed the guy shilled his own auction and the next highest bidder was $205. Although the card is down in value since I would give anything for it. That and the 2008 Premier Alex Gordon Logoman that was on Ebay for 4 hours and I was not home so I never got the chance to hit the bin.

I have always been a lower end seller/buyer/collector. But at a show about a year and half ago a fellow dealer had a 2007 Bowman Sterling BGS 10 Travis Snider in his case for $75. He told me I could have it for $50.

I didn't have that good of a show so I didn't want to put that much into a card that I didn't know if/when I would be able to sell it.

In 1987, I had a chance to purchase a near mint 1968 topps nolan ryan rookie for $90 and I passed.

In 1988, I had a chance to buy a 1986-7 Fleer basketball wax box for $300, and I passed.

In 1997, I passed on 10 boxes of 1996-7 topps chrome basketball for
$70 each.

In 2006, I passed on a 2003 Bowman's best Chien Ming **** autograph rookie for $4.

That was the last time I passed on something I had a hunch on.

Man, I did not bid on that, thinking you'd be going for it.

I recall thinking to myself: "He got a deal on that one."

Haven't seen too many golds, in quite awhile.
