This goes down as worst thread of the year. How does it still exist?

Rollins and Howard have more MVP's then Tex and Jeter (Oh wait these 2 have none)

ok? So? A-Rod has 3 and no WS...Jeter has 4 rings. Which do you think a player would have?
Um, a WS, which Rollins and Howard have. So let's play that game, 3 best hitters, and pitcher with most on resume

Tex- No WS, No MVP
Arod- No WS, 3 MVP (Proven Steroid User)
Jeter- 4 WS, No MVP
Pettite- 4 WS, No CY Young (Proven HGH user)

Rollins- 1 WS, 1 MVP
Howard 1 WS, 1 MVP
Utley- 1 WS, No MVP
Pedro- 1 WS, 3 CY Youngs

Despite the fact that on the Yanks side you have great players, On the Phils side is almost just as good. I'd rather have the phils guys on my team

Arod>Howard
Tex>Utley
Jeter>Rollins
Pettite>Pedro- Pedro is 10x better a pitcher than Pettitte has ever been. Pedro is a LOCK for the HOF, Pettitte has a chance but not as good of a chance as Pedro. How could you ever say that. Typical Yankee fan

What does past WS wins or MVP awards have to do with this coming WS?

I am a Yankee fan and I really think the Phillies can beat them...They perform well under pressure and thats key...Play as a team and no one player is held over the next...1st NL team since the Big Red Machine to appear in back to back WS...I wouldnt count the Phillies out just yet, I wouldnt count them out till the series is over with...

The Braves did it in '95 and '96

All these analysts say that pitching wins, the Yankees have a better rotation and bullpen.

Did you miss the news?

This year the Phillies have to win because they have a better offense ( :? ), pitching and defense don't matter anymore now that the Yankees have the superior pitching.

It's not a must win yet for the Phillies, but if the Phils lose the first game with Lee on the mound, the road will be very difficult.

Even as a Sox fan, I am rooting for the Yanks. They are a significantly better team and I would much rather a team from the Major Leagues rather than AAAA wins the WS.

As a Red Sox fan I would much rather ask you to put down the pipe!

Superior Pitching? Are you still looking at regular season numbers? Also, the Phillies defense is pretty darn good as well. Also, why dont you find me some "experts" who are actually picking the phillies? then you can answer for me why vegas has the phillies as 2 to 1 underdogs...

Just another Yankee fan running his mouth. I wonder what his excuse will be when they don't win the WS? On a side note, I think this is going to be a great WS. Both teams are truly the best team in their division. Go Phils.

As a Yankee fan, I looked at the comparsions player by player. Philly is stacked. For anyone to say they are not is just babbling. I do think after Cliff Lee the phils should have some concern. Depending on Pedro to shut down our lineup will be a tall task. Hamels has been a shadow of what he was last year. If Pedro and Hamels pitch lights out its over. If they pitch otherwise the Yanks will roll. The Phils bullpen is suspect. Seriously though the Phils scare the heck outta me. Their lineup is stacked Rollins/Utley/Howard/Victorino/Ibanez (who always kills the Yanks) and Werth can hang with anyone

Time out

Did some fhead on page 3 say that Andy Pettitte is better than Pedro Martinez?

What in the blue hell is wrong with that person.

Edit: Apparhently the term "fhead" is not censored -if it isn't censored, perhaps you shouldn't repeat it- mod

oh man I love this, smack before the game even starts. Rollins has a right to run his mouth he has rings and most
of the Yankee lineup does't. Arod has NO WS experience and neither does CC and remember what the Phils
did to him last year!

Yanks will have to beat Lee twice and Pedro once to get to 6 games, do you think they can do that? They haven't
faced two pitchers like that all year and haven't faced a lineup like the Phils ever...well actually they did in
interleague play (how did that go?)

Phils are stacked and almost everyone in the line up has a WS win, no scratch that, a WS domination under
their belt. Phillies never lost twice in any series last year and that was with Pat Burrell and Jamie Moyer! Rays
were hotter than the sun last year and they just got shut down, Rays manager had Price warming up in the pen
but thought it would kill his career if he brought him in, good move. Phils can flat hit, much more than last
year even and this year we have Pedro and Lee. Yankees #1 is someone the phillies took to the woodshed
multiple times last year!

That is ok, I like the Phils under the radar, they weren't even picked to win their own divison not to mention repeat
as WS champs, which they are only 4 games from doing, keep the smack talk coming, Phillies will back themselves
up!

As a Yankee fan this matchup is really interesting for me and I definently think it will go to game 6 or 7. The Lee/Sabathia matchup should be great. Lee has a career record of 4-4 with a 5.02 ERA but in his last three starts against the Yankees he's been awesome going 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA. I think the Yankees need to put up at least 3 runs against Lee in the first game to take it. The Burnett/Martinez matchup worries me because when AJ is on he's ON, but if he isn't the dude is awful. I feel like I can't rely on him to be the consistent pitcher we thought we were getting. This one would be a throw up. Overall I think it should be a great series and hopefully my Yankees can take home #27!

I don't know if I would question his knowledge on AAAA. After viewing his sig, he seem's to be FCB's authority of AAAA and it's players.

Jimmy Rollins has 1 World Series ring. Additional, non-MLB bling, doesn't make this plural. Jeter has 4. Rivera has 4. Posada has 4. Pettitte has 3. Damon has 1.

The Yankees faced Lee once this season and scored 3 runs in 6 innings with Lee picking up the loss

Sabathia faced the Phils once this season giving up 3 runs in 8 innings for a no decision.

Pedro has not faced the Yankees this season, but has an 11-11 overall record against them with a 3.20 ERA

The Yankees faced the Phils 3 times this year with Philly taking 2 of the 3 games.

Up and down, I think both teams are pretty evenly matched. While most of the Yankee roster doesn't have the massive amount of WS experience (5 games) that the Phils have. I think the inexperienced players could pull from the 32 WS games that Jeter/Rivera/Posada have played in to increase their knowledge.

wow. I cant believe all this trash talk. What do you want Rollins to say? they will loose? You are telling me that A-Roid and Jeter if asked would say "i dont know" LOL
What do you care if Rollins (a Phillies player) is hoping that his team wins. LOL
