How can you remember Jeter, Rivera, and Posada having four rings and their teammate (Pettitte) only having 3. Pettitte was on the same four championship teams as they were.

Jimmy Rollins has 1 World Series ring. Additional, non-MLB bling, doesn't make this plural. Jeter has 4. Rivera has 4. Posada has 4. Pettitte has 3. Damon has 1.

This going to be an awesome World Series for sure, but as a Yankee fan I even have to admit that the Phils are scary. I love it that now everybody loves Pedro and last year he was a no body. How can he come back this strong? You see where I am going with this. Anyhow, any Yankee fan that doesn't admit that the Phils are good are stupid. There line-up is even with the Yanks and I have to give the starting pitching to my Yankees though. Sabathia and Lee are equal, Burnett is fantastic when he is on, and Pedro is going to have a hard time shutting this lineup down. Hamels and Pettite vary between starts, but Andy is more consistent in terms of pitching in big games. This series will go no less than six games and it is going to be a fun series to watch. People that say that they will not watch the World Series simply because the Yankees in it are dumb lol. I am not sure if anyone thinks this, but if you do than you do not respect the game.

As a Red Sox fan I would much rather ask you to put down the pipe!

I don't know if I would question his knowledge on AAAA. After viewing his sig, he seem's to be FCB's authority of AAAA and it's players.

I wasn't questioning his knowledge of AAAA . I was questioning his being a Red Sox fan rooting for the Yankees to
win the World Series  In fun of course, he can root for who ever he wants

Are Phillies fans really confident with PEDRO MARTINEZ on the mound? This is the same Pedro that was sitting under a mango tree in DR 3 months ago.

The Yankees will smash Martinez. 4-6 runs at the least.

What he was doing first 3 months of the season is irrelevant. The same excuse you would've used for Mr. Clemens a couple years ago when he sucked up $20 million of your payroll for 1/2 years work....

This is the same Pedro that went 5-1 in 9 starts for the Phillies, 3.60 ERA, around 35 K's in around 40 IP.

Oh yeah, in the NLCS against the Dodgers: 7 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 3 K.

Pedro knows how to pitch. AJ Burnett knows how to throw. My money is on Pedro.

You do realize over those 3 months he's put together some quality outings - it's not like he's coming fresh off the beach to pitch game 2

He did well against the NL...not the YANKEES. The Yanks have always knocked him around. You are telling me his stuff has gotten better since 2003-2004?

That wasn't your original argument/statement. Quit jumping around to try and prove your point.

And it really doesn't matter what the Yankees have done to him in the past. Is he facing the Yankees from 2003 and 2004?

You're putting yourself in position for a pontentially horribly disappointing outcome. If the Yankees lose, it will be made a lot worse because of the arrogant attitude. Any team that makes the World Series has as much chance as the other. The NL is not a league to be taken lightly. It has a few teams that can take on any team in the AL and the Phillies are one of them. Do not let the "AL better than the NL" debate cloud your senses. I'm a Phillies fan and I am scared of the Yankees. They have a heck of a team and this will be a great World Series.

When has jd not been arrogant? He's been such a Yankee blowhard that I find it impossible to even read what he writes most of the time. I understand fan loyalty, but he just goes on to the point where he tries to start an argument and then gets all offended when someone actually takes the bait.

I'm scared of the Phils for the same reason you're scared of the Yanks. And, like you, believe it's going to be a great series.

I wil be called a Yankee hater yet again for this, but it's just simple facts. The amount of money that the Yankees spend has been gone over and over again, but seriously, when a team spends $208 million and some change they should win.

Just to put that into perspective. If you add up the NFL ($127 mil), NBA ($57.7 mil), and NHL ($56.8 mil) salary caps for the 2009 or 2009-10 seasons (basketball and hockey is 2009-10 for their season) it totals $241.5 million. That is only $33 million more, or 1 Alex Rodriguez more, than the Yankees payroll for 2009. Only the Mets ($145 mil and change) and the Cubs ($134 mil and change) spent more than the NFL salary cap for this season.

The Yankees infield (Tex, Cano, Jeter, and ARod) made $81.225 million this year. That is more than the entire payroll of 15 MLB teams this season.

I am far from a Yankee hater. I neither like, nor dislike the Yankees. I dislike Yankee fans (the 80% that are arrogant, cry baby, jerks).

Are they breaking any rules? Are you jealous your owner doesn't spend as much as Steinbrenner does? Plenty of owners have as much $ as George does, just they choose to keep their cash. The Yankees have operated at losses some years, atleast they try to put the best product on the field every year.

See where these topics go wrong is the constant stereotyping and final shots seems by everyone on both sides. people will say something nice like can we all just relax and hope for a good series, then end it with something like yankee fans are cry baby jerks or the national league sucks but not you.... What do expect the person to do but go back at the person? The passive aggressiveness in this topic is oozing.

I am hoping for a good series and hoping the constant bickering can end, but it wont. Someone will need to get their undercover troll on.

Those arguments are awful. The MLB season is 10 times as long as the NFL season and 2X the NBA and NHL season. That obviously means there will be MUCH more revenue for teams, meaning more money to spend.
