Yeah, I'm sure that 28th rounder would have turned out to be a HOFer.....If I were a Padres fan I would be upset. It was a waste of a pick.
To be fair, Piazza was drafted in the 62nd round of the 1988 draft and has a decent shot to eventually be a HOFer, so you never know what this pick could have produced. I thought a man of your intelligence would have known this....how did he even become eligible for the draft? I thought a player had to actually play baseball and be registered on a list of eligible people that teams can use to draft from.
my prediction for his future - he tebow's his football career and is broke within 5 years of being released from the NFL.
