50 games seems harsh to me. I do believe he should be suspended, but that seems like a long time.
But my gut feeling is that he'll never do it again while he's in the MLB if he has any brains. If we responded to drunk driving with confiscating a license for 10 years and a minimum of 3 months in jail I bet people would stop getting killed. It's a privilege to play in the MLB, not a right just because you're talented. I can bet he knew the rules and knowingly risked it anyways, no sympathy.
