[quote="mwashuc06":2rff2oa2]Sorry but Wade Davis is highly overrated and is a #4 or #5 starter at best or a 7th inning guy. Did not impress me one bit this week with his 91-93 MPH fastball, curveball also hung pretty good and has no changeup/cutter. Hellickson has passed him in the organization.

If we're talking pure stuff Helly wins that battle, but Davis has more experience. Eventually Helly will join him in TB, but not for a while.

Davis is going to get bombed if they call him. He didn't look much different that Sonnestine IMO. Davis is a two pitch pitcher and would work better in the bullpen, even Badler agreed with me when I tweeted him my game report that Davis stuff is down this year.

You also said that Bumgarner is "down your top 50" prospects list when virtually every credible minor league outlet will have him in the top 10 or just outside of it. You may end up being correct, but I'm guessing that a lot of people will disregard this statement.

Bumgarner right now would be ranked around 20 in my Top 50 right now.

What does he have to do to get into the top five!?[/quote:2rff2oa2]

Develope another pitch that is average or better.[/quote:3b0ngkyo]

I agree! Or strike out more than 6.2 batters per 9 innings in AA. His secondary pitches are average at best. He won't have much success in MLB if those pitches don't become at least average.

Re: EDIT: Kazmir Staying Put, False Alarm

Rotoworld is reporting that it is all but a done deal even with the reports that the deal feel through.

According to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer, the reported deal sending Scott Kazmir to the Angels for two prospects has fallen through.

There are still multiple reporters saying this is all but a done deal. Kazmir was notified of the trade by reporters and thought they were kidding. He was seen moving around the clubhouse on the phone, while the pre-game press conference has been pushed back. Weird. Stay tuned.

Re: EDIT: Kazmir Staying Put, False Alarm

The reasons for the delay on this deal is the PTBNL. I'm guessing the PTBNL is Reggie Willits. In order for the trade to go thru, the Halos had to place willits on waivers. I think he may have been claimed by another team though. Maddon is a huge Willits fan as well. I guess we'll know in about an hour or so.

MLB Network just reported the deal is still on, and an announcement will be made within the hour.

\5:59pm: It's the deal that just won't be made official. Topkin says there won't be a trade announcement made until after tonight's Rays-Tigers game in Detroit. Naturally, the game is in a rain delay.

Looks like its going through.

Man on the scene Marc Topkin hears that the Rays may also receive a player to be named later in addition to Torres and Sweeney.

Sorry JP, I generally respect your opinion but you're making a post like a prospector and not a fan of your team. The only comparison I can make on a personal level would be the phils trading hamels to make room for Drabek or, at the time Carrasco. then on top of that, getting less than top value for him.

Hey there,

I think alot of people are remembering how good Kazmir was and not noticing that he may be pulling a Dontrelle.

Check it out, he's gone from shaky, to unhealthy, to not very good. Its a bad trend. Believe me the Marlins wished they had sold Dontrelle a year earlier than they did.

Re: EDIT: Kazmir Staying Put, False Alarm

From what I heard no announcement will be made until after the game (which is now over).

I didn't read this whole thread, but if this actually happens, Andrew Friedman can blow me.

They better give Crawford a contract extension through 2050 now.

He'll be the Mets LF next year.

LOL.

Even my mom called me and asked why the hell the Rays were trading Kazmir. This deal has the potential to be very bad unless they get Reckling or someone like that as a ptbnl.

On the other hand, which is more likely, if Kazmir never gets healthy again it'll be a great salary dump by the Rays. We'll see how it goes.

This is complete BS, and really gets me upset that they would do this. Friedman sucks

Couldn't they have made this very same deal after the season?

I'd tell you to ask Friedman, since I'm sure he has a good idea, but you know...mouth full and all.
