Everyone knows he's just sandbagging, waiting for the Astros to join his league and division.

I just had this conversation with someone last night, that it was never about the Money for Albert, and he thought the Angels could be like the Cardinals and win a World Series
with the team they have.........Well look at the polar opposites

Saferseas- Yes actually I have told that story on here before so it is nothing new. I guess I will find the pictures after I get back from the Cardinals game today.
Danimal - There is on bad place to live in St.Louis. and That is East St.Louis on the Illinois side. The other towns are normal middle - upper middle class towns all over. I really can not believe you would call it a gutter city. It really gets a bad rep with violence I think they called it like the #2 worst place for violence but most of the city is not bad.

So you're throwing a hissy fit because he wouldn't sign for you. Maybe he thought you were an "auto stalker".

Yeah how dare he sign for the handicapped child. And I am sure that's exactly how it happened and you are not exaggerating at all .

Well as you can tell by my name I once thought very highly of Albert Pujols. Honestly the guy was a dick. If you do not have Downs Syndrome do not think he is going to go out of his way to be nice. I witnessed it numerous times, I seen a kid yell Mr.Pujols Mr.Pujols will you please sign my card, about 6 years old wearing a little Pujols jersey, and Albert gives the kid a dirty look and the kid balls his eyes out, Albert takes no more than 15 steps and signed for a kid with apparent ilness and signed for about 5 or 6 adults one day. That was a great example of the type of guy AP is. You can go to his hitting clinic hes generally friendly there but you have to pay 190 dollars for him to be nice.

He's such a dick for going out of his way to be nice with kids that are sick. What an *******.

Am I throwing a Hissy fit? No. I have 28 others I did not need that one. In fact I did'nt have anything to get signed that day.
Then why did you bring it up?

And having season tickets for 5 straight years, bragging a bit? I'm sure daddy paid for them with his hard earned cash. Grow up and find out what the real world has in order for you.

I love how every thread that starts out as a friendly debate turns people into such angry fools - calm down everyone!

I'm not positive why this community on here has grown to hate me so much, maybe it is because I'm the youngest on here and strasburgmania does not take the falls anymore. I said I had season tickets for 5 years so that people know how I would have the chance to see it happen. I told the story like I watched it happen. My dad did pay for tickets because when we got them I was 11. As far as going out of his way for sick kids yea its great that he does but is it fair that because the kid with the pujols jersey begging to get an autograph from his favorite with no illness does not get 1 and is it fair the adults near the sick kid get an autograph??? I have grown up to realize my favorite player is an ******* I never wanted to admit it I thought so highly of him. He was a role model since 2001 he has been my hero someone there I could say wow Albert pujols is the best he does all of this great stuff for people then you grow up and realize that the only time he does nice for people is when cameras are near him.

Actually, I think it is your sense of entitlement. Lots of times you say things that make you come across as... well... kind of a spoiled brat. No offense, lol. Anyway, that's why when you say things like "I've had season tickets for 5 years" and you mean "I had a good chance to observe Pujols' behavior" people think you mean "I'm a spoiled brat, my daddy has taken me to every game for the last 5 years, neener neener, I deserve a Pujols autograph."

I'm sorry to have to say these things. It's just that... it seemed like you were really wondering where all the hate was coming from. It's probably because lots of us are jealous that you have a dad who spends so much time on you, and it seems like you're always talking about the money he spends on you. Except that you rarely mention him, you make it seem like it's your hard earned cash that's buying all that nice stuff.

DANIMAL: great post. It's a shame that the thanks button is gone, your total would've gone way up. Cool story, bro.

I was actually using the season ticket thing as an example of the fact I had only seen this happen 1 time in 5 years (405 home games;I did not attend everyone of them though) that I actually tried to get his autograph. I am not trying to come across spoiled, I have payed for 90% of my Descalso collection with money from birthdays, christmas and busting my ass around my house, and neighborhood. My dad gives me money but it is because I work to get it. Alot of the posts in my collection do say he payed for it, what I never mention is the next day or next week I go help him and his friend at someones house and clean for 6 hours or crawl under a house to fix a busted pipe in 3 inches of water all for a 45 or 50 dollar baseball card. I don't expect to get a Pujols autograph and in my original post I never said I wanted an autograph. I wanted that little kid wearing the Pujols jersey crying his eyes out to get an autograph on a baseball card which is probably the most worthless common signature of any baseball player. Then Pujols walks down the row just a little further and signs for a kid with a disease. I understand that it is hard to be mentally handicapped and how much it means to that kid, but would it not be as special to the kid in good health; would it mean less to that kid because he does not know adversity like the disabled kid? That is all I was trying to say, not that I am spoiled or that I deserve an autograph.

I'm rather new on this board but have been on SCF and Blowout and Ebay for a long time (just don't want you thinking I'm some newb to the forums lol).

When I read his post I did not think he came across as spoiled or a brat or anything. He was just giving background info that supported his opinion of Pujols. I'm much more likely to believe that Pujols is a dick based on someone's observations that has had season tickets to the Cardinals games for 5 years than someone who has never been to a game.

Do I think some sickly kid deserves an auto over anyone else? Absolutely. Is it fair? Absolutely not. I think he was just trying to say that Pujols is a selfish, conceited ahole.

And so what if his dad spoils him with stuff. His dad is evidently hard working and can choose to spend the money however he wants. Sounds like a lot of people on here are just jealous that maybe their dads never took them to a ball game or spent money on their hobbies.

Don't worry about some of the people on here PujolsCollector. They have nothing better to do than sit behind their computer all day and pick on people. Real internet tough guys

I don't worry about most of the people on here for the most part this is the best site. Just lately I have taken a little heat. I think I was pretty well liked when I started on herebut maybe it was because I was new. Most people are still very helping but some have kind of been taking some shots at me lately. If I did'nt like the site I would have quit over 2000 posts ago lol.

I just want to say - in regards to him leaving for money - that baseball is a business for the Pros. That's why they are called "Pros"... as in - you know - "Professionals"? If I were busting my hump at a business - making them all types of money... knowing I was worth more... you bet your sweet little "UMAD" butt I'd jump ship in a minute. IT'S BUSINESS.

The irony is... if you'd stop obsessing over what people think of you - they'd probably like you a little more. You're a bit of a drama queen.

It's still pretty early in the season for Pujols. He will get his numbers. As for the Angels, that may be another story. Texas has an outstanding ball club and spotting them 10 games in the standings may end up being fatal, even if it is only April.
