I understand that this may be "your" policy but if you accepted Paypal & used Ebay to sell your item then "your" policy is not binding in Ebay/Paypal's eye's (it sucks but it's the way that Ebay/Paypal does things)! :? If you didn't know this then you've been very lucky not to have dealt with an individual like Chris is dealing with now (because Chris will soon find out he is at the mercy of this buyer)... :|
Take care & good luck in your future dealing's on Ebay!![]()

True. I think some people think that their policies mean something. The only policies that mean ANYTHING are the eBay/PayPal policies that you agree to when you use eBay and PayPal. It's almost pointless to even have your own "policy", because it's basically meaningless the second you sell something on eBay and accept a PayPal payment (which you have to accept to even sell on eBay).

Yeah but Chris can always forward the messages he got to ebay and show them that the buyer was refusing to show any damage. That may have some stroke with ebay.Who knows.
One other small unrelated question I have is all of you say you will block him. What happens when you do this?By that question, I mean...what does he see when he looks at your item and decides he wants to buy it?Does it just show a pop up on the screen that says this seller has blocked you from bidding on their items?I am just curious.I have never been blocked before but I have always wondered what it would look like.
And just for the record...no my ebay id is not cubnuts or whatever he calls himself.![]()

If you're blocked, you can still view the auction but once you try to bid or buy the item, it will tell you the seller blocked you.

MAYBE he can save himself from the neg, but it's a long shot. I'd just feign an apology and hope he just doesn't leave feedback at all.
Sadly, that isn't how customer service works.cgilmo said:wideright said:How about an apology for starters? Maybe admit that you shouldn't have insinuated anything and just treated him like a customer? Scam or not, you got this guy upset yourself, Chris. If you hadn't pissed him off you might have gotten out of it better. Just my two cents.cgilmo said:me
I cannot issue any refund until I see the damage
You do understand where it would be logical for me to think that this is buyers remorse, as zimmermans streak has ended.
I am sure a scanner would show the damage, you do not need to be a professional photographer to capture the damage.
Tell me, how would you handle this?
nothing i said was illogical or untrue

Well I say that for the simple reason that maybe it will at least keep him from getting a negative feedback. He did want to work out the problem with the buyer but the buyer made it hard for him to do so.And if Chris can point out that the buyer had access to a scanner or a way to upload pictures then that also plays well in his favor.I know Chris is out the money for sure but they may at least be able to save face for him on the feedback.

Sadly, this will not do any good towards helping out with a possible feedback (as Ebay only steps in & removes feedback in the instance that it breaks thier TOS- such as vulgar language or one's personal information)...
