false.

And how have you come to this determination? Are you a scout? Do you have more knowledge than the multiple scouts who believe Trout will be a future regular all star?
go out and watch him for yourself and come back to me. He is a good player but will never be great and does not have the personality to ever be a fan favorite.

Lol, you really don't know much about baseball apparently. I've seen him play about 8 times, if you factor in ST.

Personality to be a fan favorite? I disagree. I doubt you've ever even talked to him, whereas I have interacted with him for the past six months. If you have talked to him and he put you off for some reason, ever think he just didn't like you?
So tell me what you think he will do in a full MLB season. Haha yea ive talked to him a few times. He is a nice guy never said he wasnt but he is a little shy. We even recorded an interview with him. Its like I insulted someones mother if you dont ride the hype train of Mike Trout, Bryce Harper ect..[/quote:2yv58pm9]

I'm not a scout, but I think Trout can put up a consistent .315+ avg, 40+ 2B, 5+ 3B, 15+ HR, and 40 SB per year type of player. He's great out in center, although he does take weird routes sometimes, but that'll improve with more experience in the position. If you saw him play often, you'd notice that nearly everything he hits, he hits hard.

So, because he was camera shy in your interview, when he was 18 years old, you felt the need to proclaim that he will never have the personality to be a fan favorite? Smart!

There's a difference between not riding the hype train and stating that a player will never reach a certain ceiling. You aren't a scout, and from the sounds of it you don't have much knowledge at all about player development, so you really have no place stating that a player won't ever be great. Let's leave that to the pros, and from Trout's placement in the top 50, it's quite clear they all think pretty highly of him.

It seems like once you invest money in a player you are blind. Did you just pull those numbers out of a hat?

you are kinda being an idiot here. Every scout in America says all star, and every evaluator echoes that. Sometimes I think you say things just to disagree.

We all should know at this point that baseball scouts have the lowest success rate of any sport. This is due mostly to the long process of making it to the Majors and the huge minor league system, but every scout is wrong more than they are right.

Corey Patterson was a lock to be a perennial all-star, and Baseball America had him #16 overall in '99, #3 in 2000 and #2 in 2001. All other scouting agencies had him in the same range. And sure, he's still in the Majors, but with zero star power and nothing more than a role player, or AAAA.

Basically, there is no difference is saying something just to agree or something just to disagree because it's still just a coin flip.

Those who are saying sell people are the prospective buyers. Or dont' want to see you cash in. I would honestly hold onto this guy.

I'm saying "sell" and I'm not looking to add a single Trout card to my collection.

I've always been a firm believer in getting out when you're ahead instead of pushing the greed envelope and missing it. I'd much rather have a buy-in at $40 and sell at $200+ than roll the dice and hope for $300. Let someone else take that risk.

And regardless, there is no shortage of Trout stuff online and I'm not sure who the people are that are buyers at these prices.

I agree with this too, but I guess I have a problem because I am so high on this guy. Yes I bought at wonderful prices, but I still think when he hits the majors the prices can only double. When you buy in cheap and am a collector of his cards, it is a win win. I cannot lose either way. Mark Prior.

Trout making #1 of top 50 prospects list, would make now a great time to sell off a little, IMO.

I wonder what a GOLD AUTO goes for now?

Let's see how the blue auto up now does and we can guesstimate on what a gold would go for.

Wow, unreal prices here. What did Heywards Peak at?

For the blues? I'm sure they were close to or over $300 at one point early in the season...

Heyward blues were much higher than that. A raw just sold for $315.

So, I guess the Trout Blue has some room to grow from the current price...

A Justin Upton blue just sold for $180 and change a few days ago. Do folks really believe that Trout is better than Upton (or is a better investment than Upton, anyway)? I don't get that at all.

It's not the same situation. Trout will not be the Opening Day anything.
