1. eBay presell
2. Buy cases with meth money
3. Profit???

LOL
This is mocking the money laundering idea right?

If so, you should learn more about money laundering.
It was clearly a joke. The Profit???? Was more about the guy thinking this enterprise of his was going to lead to anything but claims and refunds and unhappy customers.

And why wouldnt you buy cases with the Meth money and have the clean money be the eBay profits?

Once Topps punted on the South Park card set due to Matt and Trey's insane demands for fresh fruit to be delivered to them via chariot every 10 minutes for a week, I've lessened my interest in that show.

All I know is that as a consumer and hobby enthusiast, my son & I enjoyed ripping a lot of product that mama_bear delivered. It was product that I would never have purchased at the full MSRP prices. Sure, I would have bought boxes like I always do from blowout, D&A, and Atlanta ~ but I was able to get them through mama-bear cheaper. Again, from my consumer standpoint I had a great experience while it lasted. The whole sellers should have been pleased. I imagine they moved a ton of product that otherwise would not have sold so quickly...

The consumer in you loved mamabear because he delivered at a price that no one else could. The hobby enthusiast in you should realize that doing so is damaging to the hobby.

Most people it isn't a hobby it's a business. Buy low sell high and run with the cash. What's damaging the hobby is the major sports leagues not allowing broad competition and manufacturers putting out sub par products with poor quality.

I'm not sure I want to respond to you anymore. If you can't figure it out then I feel bad for you. Seriously.

let me explain once and for all.

So far while here you said that this GUY you spoke to has a one hour sports radio show that you listened to. Yet you wont share the name. And lets not ignore the super red flag, mama bear's ebay name is Jennifer.

You say you know the reasoning behind this all. Yet have not spoke of this reasoning and only said what you think is going on. What happened to your first post saying you know why but dont want to disclose?

So my question for you is besides stirring the pot and no matter what anyone says you say GREAT POINT BUT...... what exactly is your point? WE GET IT YOU GOT YOUR CASES now what?

I don't by that the lack of competition is hurting the hobby, not in the slightest. In 2005, we had 4 manufacturers, 700 products, 400,000 parallels to chase and almost nothing worth breaking.

Now we have one licensed manufacturer and little worth breaking in most people's eyes.

Personally, I think it's a combination of pricing of new products, prospecting (and the mentality of investments in general) and the lack of being "collectible" that is hurting the hobby.

The hobby didn't learn from the 90s, and it's still suffering from those years.

I would like to see maybe 3 manufactures with a limit on how many sets they can make in a year. Maybe 5 each. With at least one of those being a MSRP of $2.00 or less per pack. Something cheap enough to get kids and families back in to collecting.

Lack of competition prevents innovation.

Products overlap too much. The hobby would be better with fewer releases, why did we need Tribute, Sterling, Triple Threads, and Unique? Pick One, design it well and you will strengthen values.

I can agree with most of this but don't agree that there's currently a lack of "collectible" cards. Many of the most hard-core collectors simply expect too much from cards: their addiction causes their 'demands' on what to expect from cards to be unrealistic...and sellers, investors and even manufacturers fuel their addiction.

Cards are just simple pieces of cardboard meant for education and general enjoyment by all - even 'non-elite' collectors... The more complicated these simple pieces of cardboard get the more the hobby looses focus.

But at least 2 of the mfgs making cards in 2005 were putting out "collectible" cards.

75% of my collection comes from 2002-2005, so having more choices definitely benefitted the player collector.

I see that Mama_bear** has received 50 negatives thus far. Has anyone involved received a full refund?

Would have been more but a few people were nice enough to leave positives & neutrals.
