Is he implying that major hobby retailers set him up so he wouldn't keep lowballing them?

Anyone that bought from mama_bear heard anything from Paypal yet?

Yes. I received a full refund already.

Hopefully the authorities will charge anybody who was involved in any illegal activity.

Sounds to me like Brent (mamma_bear**) is making more of it than there is.

If you are looking for motive on who would shut him down, the entire industry has it. Everyone wanted him gone. It isn't like retailers and whole sellers could have competed if they wanted to. The prices he was charging was below anyones factory cost, you can't even get backdoored product for what he was selling it for.

See below for the excuse mama bear sent me on ebay

"Dear muhnandr,

Anything I write gets posted on the chat rooms so there is
no point in answering any further. I have had a slew of cases filed against
me claiming that that they received "cardboard" instead of the item. I
personally ship zero cases myself, so I have either been sabotaged by the
shipper or the receiver, but either way I have the authorities looking into
it but the damage is done. My funds have all been frozen by paypal and the
avalance of refunds due to the inability to pay for product continues to
snowball. I am getting hundreds of emails everyday and refuse to spend
every hour telling everyone what went down. Most already had a negative
opinion eventhough for more than 6 months I kept delivering. This was a
planned attack to destroy me and it worked. Believe what you want but read
between the lines on the blogs. I even got a heads up warning on sat night
that there was something coming down and I shrugged it off. I called ebay
and paypal when it was just begining on Sunday only to be told that they
would not get involved for 7 days and to try to work it out with the buyer.
That was a joke and whoever organized this was well aware of that
happening. How many other dealers have hate blogs 30 pages and 6 months
old. I guess I understand now how gang mentality works. Find the ***** and
hammer away until you kill the beast. Well, the beast is dead. You can all
get your funds back and now thank the lord that the threat to you is gone.
I wonder how much profit these same people made from buying from me for 6
months? None of those same people will lose a dime if they ask to be
refunds on the current items. This should make a nice cut and paste to the
blogs so you can all have another good laugh at my expense."

He's wrong in that no one will lose a dime. Anyone who gets a refund is out the $700-900 that the product is worth.

I understand that point.

Just an honest question here: Wasn't he buying from those same retailers and whole sellers at their regular price in order to deliver the product before he got shut down?

No, he wasn't buying from retailers.

He was buying from the wholesale market on dealernetb2b.com through the handle AZ-250

You can be as rude and ignorant as you want to be. I don't care anymore. Enjoy your anger at your own expense because I am beyond it.

All I know is that as a consumer and hobby enthusiast, my son & I enjoyed ripping a lot of product that mama_bear delivered. It was product that I would never have purchased at the full MSRP prices. Sure, I would have bought boxes like I always do from blowout, D&A, and Atlanta ~ but I was able to get them through mama-bear cheaper. Again, from my consumer standpoint I had a great experience while it lasted. The whole sellers should have been pleased. I imagine they moved a ton of product that otherwise would not have sold so quickly...

But you're not addressing the main fact....that he was knowingly taking a loss on all this stuff and selling way below cost.

The house of cards didnt crumble because people were filing false claims, it crumbled because he couldnt deliver on his obligations. I think a lack of capital had something to do with it as well. You can only by so many cases at retail when you're charging below cost.

How is that rude and ignorant, you are the one who said he "Jennifer" was on a radio show you listened to. All I asked was what was the show name. You are the one admittedly hiding information from people who where ripped off for no other reason but that you talked to him on the phone and got your case.

Thanks for the reply.
I totally agree he was knowingly taking a loss. Only he knows why he did that. I have no clue if it was the false claims or lack of capital to continue that stopped him. Surely he could only continue to do that for so long, but I wish there were no false claims to screw the equation....

It still could have been money laundering. There's a nice crystal meth industry here in central FLorida...
This has been my thought all along.

It's a great way to get cash money into circulation. This entire hobby actually is perfect for money laundering as so much cash exchanges hands with so little paperwork.

I'm not sure I want to respond to you anymore. If you can't figure it out then I feel bad for you. Seriously.

And that is why people suspect criminal activity. You don't have to reach much to come to that hypothesis.

Thanks, the point is very well taken & I could understand that. On the other side, I believe that suspicion and proof are two very different things. All of us are, in fact, innocent until proven guilty. If he had not been proven to do anything illegal, I would only hope that others did not do anything illegal to shut him down.....

Public opinion has never been the justice system and never will be, so "innocent until proven guilty" is meaningless in every non-judicial situation. Perception rules the outside world.

This is mocking the money laundering idea right?

If so, you should learn more about money laundering.

The consumer in you loved mamabear because he delivered at a price that no one else could. The hobby enthusiast in you should realize that doing so is damaging to the hobby.
