I understand what you're saying, but the only topic I'm trying to address and get answers from with this thread is regarding stickers in cut products. I too hate cut up cards for cuts, but let's save that one for another day. Really hope BG gives an answer as to how this was green-lit. I was sick to my stomach when I opened the pack.

A little dramatic dont you think?

Nope, not at all. Not after dropping $90 on a "cut-auto" product.

Eventually people will figure out that when you're buying most autos you're not buying a card, you're buying an auto. Doesn't make a difference if its on-card or not in the vast majority of cases.

Past midnight here and I'm heading to bed. I'll bump this tomorrow if BG isn't around today.

And yes, I do promise to keep this topic civil! Just looking for some answers on this one.

Was Brian's inbox full? When I see threads like these, I feel like people are trying to force him into giving them free stuff.

I don't know Ty personally, but I have had a few email conversations with him and bought some cards from him. All have been great. He ships them from Japan for less than the people on eBay. No way he is fishing for freebies here. He is pissed on principle and, while my reaction would not have been as strong, I agree. He bought something and did not get what was advertised. There IS a difference between cut and stickers. No way around that.

do you feel the same way when someone calls out topps? they have a rep on the boards who is more behind the scenes but helps members as well.

now i get the point of your post but in my opinion if the mouthpiece of a company can come and pimp his product all the while telling everyone how well the company listens they are going to get called out on the negatives... in the past bg has been public in answering questions and solving problems... which will lead to more threads where an unhappy customer puts it out there. not because they want want want but because they have seen a model which gets answers or help.

I always wonder the battles people like to fight. But no one ever fights the game used cards battle. Making every company stand up and show where and who they bought stuff from. Who authenticated ect. Tags, use all that shown before it is cut up. Never a freakin peep. But people willing spends a lot of cash on these cards blindly.

Agreed, I think Ty has a valid point and see nothing wrong with him posting this.

I don't think Ty is worried about free stuff, as Ty has never come off like that to me. I agree he's a stand up guy. I just see so many threads about how Leaf has done someone wrong, just send him a PM and be done with it. With the mob mentality of this board, these threads just usually turn into Leaf bash sessions.

Re: Seriously Leaf... (calling BG) pic added

I used to be really into these types of products until recently. I recently opened a case of Leaf best of baseball and got bent over pretty badly. Now Im not complaining that i got a bad case, but whats interesting to me is that I listed all but 1 card (which I gave to a friend) and BG was the winner of a few of them. Now upon reading a previous post on this thread about the Taylor Swift auto being a big hit struck a cord. Last year I opened a few cases of the Celebrity Cuts product and got a Swift from the 2010 edition. At the time the card was selling for about $70 which is close to the cost of a pack. I gave said card to my little sister who at the time was 12 and is still an avid Swift fan. Now to the point... When I saw the post with the 2011 version I asked my sister to see the card (she proudly has it displayed on her dresser) and what do you know they are the same type of cut (background from fearless tour and something else) Which leads me to wonder how many of these were bought back and just re-slabbed ? Im not saying what happened is right or wrong and to be honest I really dont care, its just an interesting situation to me. I will still continue to open leaf products that I feel are fun, just my 2 cents.

And speaking about bad cuts... how horrible are the terrible new obak cuts with Killebrew and Banks ! you can pick up those nabisco and hillshire farms auto for like 10shipped on ebay and they are bringing in some cases triple that ?!?!

That's pretty much exactly what I'm talking about too. Why people would be willing to pay 4 to 50 times the price of the whole card b/c a company like Obak decided to cut up and artificially serial number them (1, 5, 75, etc) is just crazy.

But then again, as long as there are dumb buyers, there will be companies to exploit them. It's more our fault as collector's than the companies making them. They still make money, which in the end, all that matters for the card companies.

Check this fine 1/1 out :)

That is bush league stuff, and people trying to justify it by looking at value and popularity of signers are completely missing the point. It's a "CUT SIGNATURE" product, not a "leftover stickers that we found in an old file cabinet and slapped on a card and called it a cut" product

I don't feel the same way about when people call out Topps, Because Brian has A ton more PULL, and is the damn owner. The Topps rep can and will only do so much. I reached out to him about my 8 BRUTAL BCDP cases and didn't even get a freaking response. Different stories. Brian has always tried to make things right with people on these boards and has been extremely generous to many of us. Topps rep, ehhhhhhh
