Hi have you guys all heard of this "Mr. Mint" guy that always flaunts how he can "pay cash" for any old vintage ect ect... well I was watching a few youtube videos of deals he made where he basically screwed old elderly folks of their valuable childhood collections by offering them like 10% of the current market value and passed it off like THEY were the ones who should feel lucky. sorry but that guys seems like a big time ****** and it's people like that that make me sick to my stomach when it relates to using our hobby as a form of hustle!!!!
anybody ever run into this @$$ at the National? if I ever happen to I will make sure to give him a piece of my mind :x

Have you guys heard that we've landed on the moon?

Just kidding. Yeah, man.. most of us have heard of him and have gone through this very discussion. I, personally, don't care for the guy.

Asking people in this hobby if they have heard of Mr Mint is like asking a 13 year old girl if they have heard of Miley Cyrus

Most people that say he is screwing them wouldn't have the cash available to make that kind of deal and wouldn't pull the trigger if they did. 10% of book plus grading fee's and travel expenses, plus having to sit on the cards until they sale is alot of money to be tied up in baseball cards. Personality wise...I wouldn't want to deal with him. But if I needed cash quick for some vintage cards, he's not a bad guy to have around.

is he a jerk? yes without a doubt.

that said, he is no worse than the people at the title loan places showing up on every corner or the "payday" loan places for that matter.

where there is money to be made off unsuspecting people or people just hard up, there is a jerk to take advantage.

It's only because he has made a killing in this hobby and people familiar with cards believe he is the man. I have bought from him in the past and sold stuff to him. Arrogance will come to anyone after being called the best after a while.

He tried to buy a game used jersey from my dad and his offer was about 1/3 of what my dad got through gray flannel auctions.

Wrong. There are plenty of successful people who are humble.

And when people within the industry seem to think the guy has issues, well I would tend to think he has some issues. Just sayin'.
