I've wanted a Hurricane Carter auto for awhile. Looking forward to the chance to pull one.

I love that card... although ours is an image of the man, not art (which I like also)... BG

THAT is what I want, an actual photo of him

I think any checklist like this is a "no-win" for Brian and Leaf. The reason I say this is that while I would be impressed if he got a "Sonny Banks" auto for the set --- I don't know how many other people would note or care. FYI -- Sonny was the 1st of 4 fighters to knock down Clay/Ali and he died from injuries sustained in a fight in 1965. Now come up with cut autographs of people like him, Tunney Hunsaker and some other earlier Clay/Ali opponents and you'd get gray hairs looking for those autos.

My point is, the checklist looks darn good as it is, and while it might always be better, I think Brian realizes how much is on the line for him with this and other upcoming sets and wants to make this work

Regards
Rich

Yeah, maybe he finds some of those type of cuts for the metal release.
Antonio Anoki would be a great one in future release. That match with him is a great story. If i RECALL Anoki did a shoot in that match. Where it was supposed to be for show, but Anoki took it too far and ended up hurtin Ali legs by always kicking him the match. Didn't Ali have a couple of other staged fights with pro wrestlers???

I disagree with Brian on like everything, but this is tough. Brian engages more than a lot of people that ***** their websites on here and he's actually making something. He's actually pimping something that people will use/buy.

I will not buy this product, but this doesn't seem like a bait-and-switch. I mean, this is one hell of an idea considering the availability of licensing options right now...

Baseball Forum gets the most traffic. If someone wants to pimp a product, they'll do it in the baseball forum.

Be glad that this isn't stickied on EVERY forum as a paid advertisement.

As we are willing to share on this site relevant information, we do ask that posts in this thread be limited to relevant information/questions regarding the above checklist...

This product is solid and we have people waiting in line to buy it...

I read the entire thread, the 2 things I couldn't get past quoted above. i tried, I really did.
1. you can ask all you want, it just makes you sound like a baby
2. the pompous, arrogant, "if you don't wanna buy it someone else will and they are waiting in line for it" kills me

I don't give a damn if Topps or Panini or whoever come on here or don't, to talk about their products. It's probably better they don't. Yes it's very nice of you Mr. Razor err Leaf, you are admirable for actually talking to collectors. Regardless of your open communication, your product(s) stink just as bad if not worse than the big boys who everyone complains that have cornered the market. you ever think they are where they are for a reason?

I think my favourite part of freedom cardboard is the ability to turn off the swear filter. I haven't seen it on other boards and I love it.

Just logged on (Saturday afternoon here) and this thread sure grew.

It's awesome that we finally have a full checklist. Very cool of BG to do that.

I guess the only other concern I have would be print runs, but I doubt we'll see them until after release. Not sure why though if everything is sold out.

Some of the sticker names are really poor too. Bruce Jenner for example has been in a ton of various products and really has no business being in this one. Oh well, every product has to have its supply of $hit. The sticker auto names just seem to take away from the Ali theme more than anything else. Don't think anyone can really argue that.

Now that there are only two fighters who haven't signed and there are 12 sticker signers to replace them, is it safe to say that those two combined were to have signed 6X the amount of each sticker person? Seems like a ton.

BG, what if you were to put in mystery redemptions for "former boxing champions"?

There are tons of them out there and I would have a hard time believing that a handful wouldn't agree to sign in a short time frame for an Ali product. It would continue with the boxing theme, they would be on-card, and most ripping this product would much rather have one than the random names picked for the "fans."

Probably too late now, but this IMO would have been a better way to go than digging through the sticker stockroom.

Brian, I'm not sure how the hell you do it. No matter what you do, people bitch and moan.

I think putting sticker autos of completly random people that have 0% to do with Ali is a legitamate beef, no?

Probably should have taken it on the chin on this one and reduced production instead of reducing quality. This is leaf's first, real chance to make an impact. Sticker autos of hogans heros isn't that.

I have a box coming, so holding out hope the product is still great.

This pretty much sums it up. Its just so obvious that the stickers chosen were remaining ones dug up from previous products. To the buyer, that comes across as a cheap, easy way out. I don't mean to sound negative, but that is how I (and clearly many others) feel. People want signers that signed FOR A PRODUCT, not a jumbled mess. Its like putting crappy tires on an Lamborghini simply because they were what was readily available. Sure they'll get the car rolling, but they stick out like a sore thumb.

He could pack it out with a redemption for a bj from Jennifer Anniston and someone would complain that she's old. I'm not saying Brian is a perfect guy. I think he's learning a little each product and doing the best he can. It's possible to be constructive w/ criticisms. So many people fail to remember that.

We all know everyone would have preferred to have all on card and original people in it. But like any product not everything goes as planned. If he would have put redemptions, people would still bitch and moan. If he cut back and people got screwed out of product, they would have ******* and moaned. Already this stuff is delayed over a month waiting for autos to come in. A lot of cash is tied up in this product from ALi on down. Or price got jacked up, people would still bitch and moan. It needed to be released. Has a bunch of sweet cards in it, he showed the boxing shorts he used and where got them from in another thread when it first was announced. No one gives detail like that. Gave print runs on autos, as well. Yes, we could all set and bitch till end of time that a whopping two original autos got replaced with some sticker autos. Even some big names stickers. My guess is over 90% OF AUTOS ARE ON CARD! maybe BG will ball park it for us.
