Re: nick adenhardt killed!!!???

jdfoxtrot: I'd keep 'em if I were you. Maybe try to find a family address and send them a ball and a nice letter or something talking about your experience with Nick. No matter how much stuff they share, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

I dunno what you should do with so many balls, though.

On a different note, not related to ebay, and actually related to this tragedy, this is from the latest article on ESPN.com:

"The Angels, in a statement, said the female driver and another male passenger were dead in the Mitsubishi when police and firefighters arrived. The team said no other members of the organization were involved in the crash."

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4055343

Despite the earlier reports, sounds like Adenhart was the only player involved.

Sad day for all those killed...

A good sign for the club at least.

So a question for you guys....

I looked through my spring training stuff because I know adenharts name sounded familiar-

I have:

2 06 Bowman Draft IP autos
2 06 Bowman Chrome Draft IP autos
1 06 Bowman Chrome IP Auto
15 signed baseballs.

I plan on keeping one ball (as was my original plan) but I did get them signed as investments, because he was simply a prospect to me.

Great guy, genuinely cared about talking to me and finding out about my baseball career I had and have right now...

But would I be a "jerk" to sell this stuff right now???

So you had no idea you had 15 signed baseballs of somebody whose "name sounded familiar"? Why the hell would you get 15 signed baseballs if you didn't know who he was?

Because I took 200 baseballs to spring training. I brought all of my angels prospects cards I had to the angels game, I had that many cards of him simply because I opened a case back in 2006. He was a great guy and was like "are you sure that's all you want signed?" and I said if he had time he could sign a ball or two. He said "Shoot, bring me 6 or 7!" So I did, I also got another 8 from him the next two games I went to, he even remembered my name the third time =]

Why even ask me this question?

Re: nick adenhardt killed!!!???

The Orioles just did a moment of silence honoring Nick Adenhart. He was from Maryland and lived in Baltimore in the offseason.

Re: nick adenhardt killed!!!???

Do we really need bickering in this thread?

Please try to keep on subject. A guy died and its tragic, there is really no need to talk about the rest of this crap.

Sell them and give half of the money to MADD or some group that helps families of people killed by drunk drivers.

Huh, if you learned to read, I said I got 7....

then in two SUBSEQUENT games, he signed 4 more each game, simply because I didnt want or need 40 Adenhart Balls.

Moving on, does anyone have Nick's home address???

That would be a great idea if you don't have money invested in them. If you have IP items that you want to sell, donate a portion to charity

That's what I am going to do.

Although, has it been confirmed that the driver that hit nick WAS drunk? or is it still Sepculation?

I was talking directly to foxtrot. Take the price he gets - the price of the ball / 2. 1/2 of profit goes to charity, the other half goes to foxtrot. I'm guessing he'd raise a lot for charity. Or heck even if he kept 5.00 per ball, said he was selling them w/ only keeping 5.00, I bet the balls would bring 50 bucks or more. I'm just throwing out ideas.

Wow, my stomach turned when I read the headline. This is so sad, he had such and incredibly bright future ahead of him.

Super Sad news. I go to school in Fullerton and spend most of my free time down there. Prayers to the families of all involved.
