Ugh what a dud day. Picked up a big lot of 2012 Topps Black (regular set & Update) Oakland A's for really cheap. The only one thought I needed was the Jonny Gomes, but it turns out I misread my wantlist and I actually need his 2014 Update Black card. So a bunch of doubles, but at least the lot was cheap enough that I should be able to easily make a profit selling them on COMC once they are running more smoothly.

Also I got a card I was really excited about, a 1998 Ultra Platinum Medallion Jason Giambi, but it has terrible surface damage that was not evident in the scan so I'm going to need to return it. I hate going through the return process and I'm not very picky about condition, but it has really bad cracks all over the place in the glossy coating. Never seen anything like it.

Dude. That bites. The condition on the Giambi is one thing, but those things happen. The real downer is misreading your checklist, and buying something you already had. Definitely been there.

Better maildays are ahead!

It only took forever but, finally able to have a 2005 Leaf Gold Stars Foil /25. The 2014 Panini Hall of Fame 78 Emerald /10 is my second...

Today's mail had a few rarities:

111620.jpg

The Bellhorn is 40/50, I believe only the second Fractal Diamond Axis A's card I own in addition to a Ben Grieve. The 2000 UD MVP Gold Script Tejada goes with my Tim Hudson and Jason Giambi cards from the same set, still missing 4 A's though. The Zito Photographer's Proof seems pretty rare. And I collect a lot of non-A's Ted Lilly stuff because he's from Central California like I am.

Did not know this existed. Only /5. Apparently there was one from last year but have yet to even find a picture anywhere of it. If anyone has please let me know. Thanks

Wow what an awesome card! I really like that design. Much better than my subway token card:

Some random checks off the wantlists plus a 1988 Topps auto for my set:

I think I'm around 60% complete on the 2002 UD 40-Man Electric Rainbows, tough set. Even the regular Electrics can be difficult to find, not anywhere near finished with those as well.

The Byrnes is the Glossy/1000 RC, not sure why I hadn't picked one up before. Steinbach is the Hologold/100 parallel. And those early 00's Bazooka GU cards can be tougher than you'd think.

That's my pickup from the recent 1995 UD Electric Gold set break on eBay, it finishes off my series 1 needs but I still need a couple from series 2. Plus a Mike Witt for my '88 Topps set, he's a bit of a tough signer.

One card in today's mail:

I've always loved the early 2000's Tribute GU cards. This one is from 2002. Though it does pale in comparison to my favorite card from this set (forgive the crappy scan):
