Paul sorry to hear about your wife. I would imagine it can be controlled with medicine. I agree Jagr should be able to score 20 goals and get 50-60 points. Talbot is a good pickup but not for 5 years.

matchpenalty I was just saying that to a guy at work. bring Carcillo back and put him on a line with Cooke and Asham.

Bilko ::facepalm:: I thought Free Agency Day was a National Holiday in Canada

Ville Leino signed a 6 year deal with Buffalo @ $4.5 mil per.

Greed is a powerful thing.

Of all the acquisitions the Sabres have made this is a bit puzzling. I would have liked if they tried to trade for a true center.

lol, it is, i have the day off work today!!!

Also, this Canada Long weekend is the start of the CFL season :D :D Woot! Woot! Being a HUGE CFL fan, today is very exciting for me as my Calgary Stampeders kick off their regular season tonight against the Toronto Argonauts. Im having a few people over to watch the game, which starts in about 1 hour. Im actually a season ticket holder, but my work kept telling me i was working Canada Day evening so i gave my ticket away a couple days ago, then last night my work told me i can have the night off ::facepalm:: Oh well, ill be happy watching the game on HDTV :D

My Local Tim Hortons was selling these Stampeders Donuts shaped like a Football today to commemorate the start of the CFL Season :D

Damn, those look good.

Blackhawks signed Carcillo. Not really sure I get this move. They have talked all off season about giving some of the younger guys a chance, and yet they signed 5 guys who likely won't make a huge impact on this year's team.

I like getting Talbot, he makes losing Powe bearable, but the Jagr signing makes me sick to my stomach. I don't even see him hitting 20 this year and being a problem.

Knew Richards would go to NYR. Puzzled on the Leino as well.

After giving the Jagr signing some thought after the initial high of getting him, I've come to realize that it will either be really good or really bad. He'll either exceed everyone's expectations or come up really short. Gonna be an interesting season.

I wouldn't mind not having hartnell,we didn't sign leino like we wanted to. Possible free agent I see is Michael handzus. We have to do something.

Handzus went to the Sharks, Gagne to the Kings.

Of the guys left, I like Teemu Selanne and Mike Modano. I think they both may have a good year or two left in them.

Not a free agent signing, but Toronto acquired Matthew Lombardi and Cody Franson from Nashville for Brett Lebda and Robert Slaney.

Seems like a nice deal for the Leafs.

And in turn, traded Joe Corvo to Boston for a 4th rounder. I'm okay with this as Kaberle didn't impress me (and I doubt many other Boston fans) in his short time in Boston. I'll gladly take Corvo at about half the cap hit of Kaberle.

it definitely seems like it worked out better for the Bruins.

You will learn to hate Corvo very quickly, he is a total ******, and hes not very good at hockey. Maybe he will do better in Boston then his time with the Caps, and what I have seen of him with Carolina

I 99% agree with you - it just seems like the Bruins gave up too much for just renting him. Of course:

- I don't really care to see him back, either
- They won the Cup. That's all that really matters.
