Too much of that proposed Texas - Florida trade doesn't make sense for it to be real.

what? The trade makes perfect sense, it actually is exactly what both teams want....A top flight pitcher for Tex, two high ceiling, cheap, talented prospects for Florida.
in addition, both are mlb ready or near mlb ready so they should both see the show in 2010

Rangers wanted Chris Tillman for Kevin Millwood.

They promised to eat $3 million of his salary

I've also heard David Hernandez and Brandon Erbe for Millwood which would be okay with me if the Rangers still eat $3 million.

I'm all for the O's getting these older veterans if the price is right. I'm glad Beltre is off their radar now, knowing what he wants after many consecutive subpar years in Seattle.

I see the O's ending up with Millwood or Blanton, Erik Bedard, Pedro Feliz, and Carlos Delgado or Hank Blalock this offseason.

My wishlist now (again if they are all cheap): Bedard, Blanton, Kouzmanoff, and Rafael Soriano.

In Boston, when you don't hear much, something big is happening...

Boston is said to be interested in Crisp per Olney's tweets. With Detroit asking Boston for Ellsbury and Buchholz in a deal for Granderson per Michael Silverman's Tweets earlier, Ellsbury may very well be the big piece of a blockbuster trade.

Let the Ellsbury rumors start flying.
Ellsbury has been asked for by the Marlins (Johnson, Ramirez), Mariners (King Felix), and the Padres (A-Gon). Detroit has shown an interest in him as well, but if Granderson would have been a net of Buch + Ells, I imagine the ASKING price for Cabrera would be laughable.

Red Sox history has shown in Theo's tenure, if something is talked about a lot (A-Rod trade, Teixeira signing, etc.), it doesn't happen. Outside of the Schilling deal, the Red Sox usually don't produce any valid rumors until a player is in Boston getting a physical.

Texas Rangers dangling Smoak and Feliz for Josh Johnson...

http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/features/rumors
ESPNDallas.com's Richard Durrett reports tonight that the Texas Rangers have offered top prospects Justin Smoak and Neftali Feliz to Florida for right-hander Josh Johnson.

Florida would be fools to pass that up, if it were an actual deal that was proposed. I love JJ, but Smoak AND Neftali for JJ is a deal that they SHOULD make (again, if it's a 100% legit deal). :geek:
