Those golds are tough I paid probably 5x book for my Griffey...
Not really an insert but a preview to the upcoming 90 Leaf set.

I remember opening a "hot pack" of these special edition golds back in 95. The entire pack was gold. I remember hitting a Boggs and an Arod but no Ozzie, still have this one

Jack- Love the 90 Leaf preview. I've never seen the Griffey before and it is cool. The Ozzie photo is completely different from the card that they came out with but the back photo is close

Ozzie had a good year in 87. Career highs in close to every category, but what is odd is he hit no homers in a year when everyone was hitting them out. Heck, even Boggs had 24 that year and I think his 2nd highest is like 9.

[Real sweet, nice pick-up!

Speaking of cards which I've found problems picking up are the 1993 Upper Deck Gold Hologram series. Most people don't know to look at the back of the card and see if the small hologram in the corner of the card is gold or silver. I've been looking for #43 which has Belle, Alomar Jr., Thome, Loften, and Baerga.[/quote]

Those 1993 UD gold holograms are strange because you go months without seeing them and then they run hot on Ebay for awhile. I think you're looking for #45. Hang in there it'll show up. Once you get it post a scan, Ozzie had one of those multiple player cards this year as well.

He must have missed the memo regarding homers  It was his best year and he actually was second in the MVP voting that year but they decided to give it to someone on a last place team... but i'm not bitter. :x :)

Funny because not many realize its a different photo so I always look
at them all. It not as obvious as the Ozzie Smith but its enough to be able
to tell..Longest 7 days of my life

God if that ain't the truth  Who hasn't been there, just praying nobody else picked up on what you have. It is one hell of a rush when it goes your way. Congrats!

Thanks! I know it'll show it's head eventually lol... whenever I see it show up on eBay (the card in general) I always PM the seller to ask what color the hologram is on the back because I'm sure the normal eBayer might not even know there are two versions, etc.

Very nice...Still looking for the Andruw.

Is there any difference to the redemption other than the "not an official game piece" text on the back?

I just compared the Rickey's and other than the text in the box on the back, they seem to be exactly the same.

Nice to know, I never knew the difference and the redemptions never seem to show up for sale. Thanks!

i need the Juan. they are not easy to find. only 4 Juan collectors have one. the card books for an outragious price of.......20 cents!

at that price you would think they would be as commom as ZITS on a teenager! I would gladly pay 25x book for one.

Sweet card, but WOW!!!

I just hope the card is a grand finale for the winner's sake. The first scan in the auction doesn't look like a Grand Finale to me. And the other scans are too vague to tell in my opinion.

The seller is knowledgeable about '90s inserts, probably fine. The main scan has a slight green tint, which suggests good, and the image with the Maddux Grand Finale, both definitely look gold. Should be okay me thinks.

Glad I got my Thomas listed as a gold for $20.
