Only card I haven't ever seen is the 1999 Topps MVP Holliday.

Welcome to the site, I didn't realize you were a 1990s collector.

I think it's apparent that there is a big difference between the Pinnacle Certified Base and the Certified Stars subset. The base mirrors are so plain in the background that I'd have to agree that the peel almost adds something. See George's scans where he has some of each. But with the Certified Stars the background has a lot going on with all those stars - I think removing the peel added something to the presentation.
I've been wrestling with the idea of peeling a Totally Certified Platinum Gold that is in my personal player collection. I think the sparkling background of Totally's base is much different than the drab background of Certified's base, and IMO the peel takes away from the Totally's presentation. If it's in my personal player collection - a collection I never plan on gaining from financially - then why not peel if it will look "cooler." Now I just need to grow a pair and do it!

I love the Totally Certified Platinum Golds because they are the same print run as the Select Certified Mirror Golds of 96 yet lighter on the wallet. I am still hunting down a Griffey one.

Best thing I've seen in awhile. See if he can find out what card number it is on back, I'm checklisting the protos.

Is your buddy a bigger Jeter collector than you are. I couldn't imagine anyone is. You have got to get that beauty in your collection. Price?
