1996 Ultra Home Run King GM Redemptions are much harder to find it seems that the redeemed variety, which doesn't make since in that there is still unopened product to rip and no redeemed cards to trade for. However, I've only ever seen two Thomases. I'm not sure of the print run of the GM variety, but it must have been fairly low.

It makes perfect sense. First they probably make more redeemed wood cards than the exchange cards. Second, some of the exchange cards get sent in and destroyed (or at least written on, hole-punched, what-have-you). Third, inevitably some/all of the surplus wood cards find their way to the secondary market (backdoored, etc), without being redeemed. As mentioned couple pages ago, I would rather have the pack-pulled 1994 topps black gold a/b/c/d, rather than the exchanged "certified". Look at similar redemption programs, like Collector's Choice crash the game where 1998 redeemed ones have flooded the market making them worthless. Also 1997 Stadium Club had a similar wood set (Firebrand) and while the Beckett prices the redeemed wood ones higher, there also seems to be leaked surplus as I've seen bulk player lots of the Firebrand wood cards, while the actual pack-pulled redemptions rarely surface.

Sweet card! I found the redeemed gold medallion Manny (with no redemption instructions on the back) to be very tough to find. I have only seen 3. I've seen something like maybe 6 or 7 of the redemption version with the instructions on the back. So those are easier but still uncommon. For what it's worth Beckett's pricing seems to back this up with the redemption card at $15 and the redeemed at $30... I don;t have them in front of me but I think the redeemed version has the real wood front while the redemption one is not real wood.

Kind of contrary to my theory but I wouldn't reference beckett to back market quantity. Refer to my above example with 1997 stadium club and I would believe more collector's would rather have the pack-pulled exchange card in the case of 1996 ultra home run kings. I know i wood. get it. except not really cause i dont want the actual wood one. what, stop typing, k.

That's the one. Don't sell too cheap, b/c I know there a bunch of die hard player collector's looking for that one. You should go the ebay route with it, but make sure you mention each and every player on the card (first name, last name, spelled correctly) in your description to maximize the bids, since that card could potentially go to 44 different player collector specialists. I'd guess $75, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it sold for well over $100. I've personally been asked to find that card at least 7 or 8 times. The keys on the card are Puckett, Ripken, Griffey, Thomas, among a couple others.
Thanked

Cool I'll get it on EBay when I can. Nice to find something in an old box.

Exceeded my expectations by quite a bit on your sale. A big congrats! Great card!

Nice? That was a freaking ridiculous sale! Good for him! Can't believe it sold at that price. I want that card bad but I'll wait it out at that price. I'll sell my redeemed version ABCD for that.

Just looking and maybe I jumped the gun.. First off I have over spent many millions of
time so I take that "dumb" statement back. Second my SCD doesn't say they were 1 per case?
So does anyone know the odds? You can buy a 20 box series 2 case from Baseball Card Exchange for 240.00 but not sure if they were in fact 1:720 packs??
