The Diamond Marks prototypes and artcards were both highly susceptible to miscuts...they look trimmed almost, despite being machine cut. I have many examples with the same problem. Likely BGS graders were being cautious.

Anyone have a Diamond Marks Prototype Kirby Puckett that they would be willing to trade or sell?

Here's one with the edge issue, every copy I've had of this card has been this way.

Are the diamond marks promos labeled sample, promo, prototype or anything like it?

This would confirm my suspicions.

They say prototype on the back edge. I've sold a few to player collectors here from a lot I purchased for the Thomas. A lot of collectors think that the "Diamond Marks" cards are all prototypes, but in reality, there was a small prototype set that superceeds the more common "release" issue that is all over eBay. That set isn't technically a prototype despite its not going mainstream.

The Gonzalez prototype has a different picture. They are very hard to find.

Are the 1994 Topps Black Gold pack-issued redemptions worth anything close to the 1993s? Picked up a C/D redemption (the NL set) on COMC, haven't heard as much buzz about the 1994s as the 1993s.

The 94's are much more rare than the 93's. The player strike in 94 caused alot of the card manufacturers to drastically cut production of all series 2 products.

Neat, I had assumed the opposite, and thought I might be taking a real gamble spending a whole 75 cents on that C/D redemption. Did I do OK? :D
