What Joe Paterno did was unethical as the leader of the football program. When one of your highest ranking employees is accused of such a thing, how can you do nothing? The reason he wasn't a participant in additional meetings was because he chose not to get involved. He ignored the situation and blocked it from his mind. He went about his day as if nothing had happened. And that is why he is now jobless. And rightfully so.

some inconsistencies between what McQueary said he told Paterno and what Paterno said he was told.
McQueary is a coward. He should have been fired as well.
And if it comes out that he acted unlawfully, he should be prosecuted as such.
My point is that even if he hadn't done anything that was illegal, it was still justified to fire him.
